Moreover, it was noted NEWS Israel strikes Hamas delegation in Doha, Qatar condemns attack ISRAEL has carried out a strike in Qatar targeting a Hamas ne- gotiating team in Doha. Explosions were heard across the Qatari capital on Tuesday as Israel conducted a "precise strike" targeting senior Hamas leaders. Israel claimed responsibility for the strike, and Hamas con- firmed that a negotiating del- egation residing in Doha was targeted in the strike. A spokesperson for Qatar's foreign ministry condemned "in the strongest possible terms" the attack by Israel, de- scribing it as a blatant violation of international laws and a se- rious threat to those in Qatar. "The State of Qatar strongly condemns this attack, and af- firms that it will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behaviour and the continuous tampering with the security of the region and any action aimed at its se- curity and sovereignty," the statement said. Iran also condemned the strike. A spokesman for the foreign ministry said the action is an "infringement upon the national sovereignty of Qatar and the Palestinian negotia- tors". Bank technical issue leads to delay in salaries for UoM staff UNIVERSITY of Malta employ- ees may face delays in receiving their salaries this week after a technical issue at the institu- tion's bank prevented transfers from being processed on time. In an email circulated to staff, the university explained that ef- forts had been made to ensure payments were submitted ahead of the 8 September public holi- day. However, the bank failed to process the transfer file as part of measures to curb fraudulent transactions. The problem, combined with the weekend and Monday's holi- day, means not all employees will receive their salaries by Tuesday, 9 September, as scheduled. "We apologise for any incon- venience but this was something that was beyond our control and we are doing our utmost to have this issue resolved as expedi- tiously as possible," the universi- ty said in its statement. The university did not specify how many employees are affect- ed, but said it is working with the bank to ensure payments are fi- nalised as quickly as possible. When contacted, a university spokesperson said the institu- tion followed the same process it follows every time, however the issues stemmed from the bank.
