This collaboration marks the first-of-its-kind partnership between the two companies, aiming to deliver inno- vative, future-ready electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions that respond directly to Malta's evolving transportation and sustainability landscape. This partnership comes at a strate- gic phase in Malta's journey toward a low-carbon economy, aligning with the global shift toward decarbonization. Un- der Schneider Electric's "Partnerships of the Future" approach, this collaboration combines the company's unparalleled expertise in energy solutions with Gasan- Zammit Motors' deep-rooted presence in the local automotive sector, enabling both companies to bring to market an integrated, future-ready EV experience that is intelligent, adaptable, and tailored to Malta's climate, infrastructure, and ur- ban needs. The chargers operate efficiently on both 240V (sin- gle-phase) and 415V (three-phase) power supplies. They offer flexible power out- puts of 7.4 kW, 11 kW, and 22 kW to suit a wide range of home electrical setups and charging preferences. Designed with smart connectivity, users can remote- ly schedule, monitor, and manage their charging through the intuitive Schneider apps. The chargers are also solar-ready, inte- grating seamlessly with home solar sys- tems to enable cleaner, renewable ener- gy use. Built for long-term performance, they feature an IP55-rated weatherproof enclosure that allows for reliable indoor or outdoor installation. With built-in load management functionality to prevent overloading and a compact, wall-mount- able design that ensures quick and pro- fessional installation, Schneider's EV chargers deliver a robust, adaptable solu- tion for today's evolving mobility needs. Starting 1st August, every customer who buys a Ford EV through GasanZam- mit will receive a free Schneider Electric home charger.This exciting offer is meant to help people switch to eco-friendly driving by making it smoother to charge their electric vehicles at home. XJENZA Malta (XM) and Malta Enter- prise (ME) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration and support economic de- velopment through enhanced research, development, and innovation initiatives. The MoU sets up a framework for co- operation between the two government agencies to align funding schemes, en- suring seamless support for research pro- jects from initial development through to commercialisation. The MoU aims to ease the commercialisation of locally de- veloped research by providing business planning, intellectual property support, and access to market opportunities. The agreement also promotes the sharing of technical resources between the two or- ganisations to improve the evaluation of research proposals, supports the devel- opment and commercialisation of intel- lectual property. Additionally, the partnership will focus on analysing the local research ecosys- tem to better align efforts with national strategies and to attract investment in research and innovation. Outreach and marketing efforts will be jointly coordi- nated to raise awareness of funding op- portunities and strengthen Malta's posi- tion as a hub for innovation. The MoU also includes provisions to check and evaluate the progress and impact of the collaboration, as well as to streamline da- ta sharing and administrative processes to improve efficiency. Silvio Schembri, Minister for the Econ- omy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects added, "Through this agreement, we are simplifying processes and fostering greater synergy between our national en- tities.
