ONE of the UK's oldest and most
respected male voice choirs will
be touring Gozo and Malta this
October, performing a series of
free concerts open to the public.
The Biddulph Male Voice Choir,
based in North Staffordshire,
England, will be performing at
the following venues:
• 18 October at 7:30 PM –
St Paul's Pro-Cathedral,
Valletta
• 20 October at 7:45 PM –
St George's Basilica, Vic-
toria, Gozo
• 22 October at 7:45 PM –
St Paul's Church, Munx-
ar, Gozo (joint concert
with the Gozo Communi-
ty Choir)
All concerts are free of charge.
Formed in 1922 in the for-
mer mining town of Biddulph,
the choir is one of the UK's
longest-running male voice
ensembles and has an impres-
sive history of international
performances and competition
success. Notable past tours in-
clude visits to Norway, Swit-
zerland, Austria, Germany, and
Italy.
In recent years, the group
has focused on fundraising
concerts across the UK and
has continued to achieve na-
tional recognition. Under the
leadership of Musical Director
Anthony Marks, who joined
in 2017, the choir was named
West Midlands Male Voice
Choir of the Year in 2023 and
Best UK Self-Funded Male
Voice Choir in 2024.
Speaking ahead of the tour, a
choir representative said:
"We're thrilled to bring our
music to Malta and Gozo.
These concerts are part of our
commitment to sharing cho-
ral music with communities at
home and abroad. We've pre-
pared a diverse and engaging
programme and look forward
to performing in these stun-
ning venues."
