mt SURVEY maltatoday | SUNDAY • 5 OCTOBER 2025 9 Government still gets satisfactory 3 out of 5 rating MaltaToday's Government Performance Bartometer shows the government getting a score of 3 out of 5, slightly down from 3.1 in June The government's approval rating has remained stable, only registering a decline by a statistically insignifi- cant 0.1 point from the ratings it re- ceived in April and June. As in previous surveys respondents were asked to rate the administra- tion's performance on a scale of 0 (very bad) to 5 (very good). A breakdown by age shows the gov- ernment enjoying its highest rating among over 65-year-olds (3.2) and its lowest rating among those aged 16 to 35 (2.9). On a regional level the government's rating ranges from 2.6 in Gozo to 3.3 in the South Eastern region. Not surprisingly, current PN vot- ers give the government the lowest rating (2) and current Labour vot- ers the highest rating (4.1). But even among current PN voters 40.5% give the government a rating of three or more. The government also manages to surpass the pass mark among current non-voters who give the administra- tion a positive rating of 2.9. A breakdown by educational back- ground shows the government reg- istering the highest score among respondents with a primary level of education (3.4) and the lowest among those with a post-secondary education (2.7). 70% 60% 50% 40% 30% 20% 10% 0 Current PL voters Current PN voters Current non voters 3.3% 0% 2.9% 12.8% 27.1% 5.7% 67.2% Robert Abela Alex Borg None Profile of non-voters Age Gender Regions Education Past vote 28% 26% 24% 22% 20% 18% 16% 14% 12% 10% 8% 6% 4% 2% 0 PL voters in 2022 General Election PN voters in 2022 General Election 9.9% 5.2% How do you rate government's performance? 0 5 3 This survey was conducted between Wednesday 24 September and Thursday 2 October.
