Architecture & Design | 17 like this create momentum, a motivation to keep delivering thoughtful and impactful projects. For our team, it reinforces the belief that creativity, and technical rigor lead to successful outcomes. How do you see architecture in Malta evolving in the next decade? I think Malta's architectural landscape is gradually shifting toward a more qualitative approach. I hope the construction industry increasingly prioritizes quality over quantity, with a focus on thoughtful, well-executed design that responds to context and community. I'm encouraged to see more architects and developers embracing this mindset, and there are already many exciting projects reflecting the shift. I'm optimistic that the next decade will see a stronger balance between heritage, and sustainability. Who inspires you and why? On a local level, I'm inspired by the talented designers I've had the privilege to collaborate with. Firms like 3DM Architecture, Valentino Architects, and A Collective consistently push the boundaries of design while staying respectful of context and heritage. Their work is bold, thoughtful, and unique, and working with them over the years has been both inspiring and a real joy. What advice would you give to young Maltese architects and engineers who want to make a meaningful contribution to the built environment? My advice is to cultivate both patience and determination. Determination is important, if you believe in an idea, stick to it and don't be swayed by outside pressure. Patience is equally important, because making a meaningful impact on communities takes time. Combining these qualities allows you to create work that is lasting, and impactful. Looking ahead, what are you most excited to explore through Periti Studio or your personal projects in the coming years? We have some very exciting projects in the pipeline. I'm especially excited to keep pushing boundaries, collaborating with the best local talent, and creating buildings that make a telling impact locally. Innovation will remain central to our work, experimenting with new materials, techniques, and ideas will allow us to continue delivering projects that are both influential and designed to the highest standard.
