AUTHOR Andy Joung will
launch his latest novel Tide of
War on Friday, 5 December, at
7:30 p.m. at Arthall, located at 8,
Triq Agius de Soldanis, Victoria,
Gozo.
Set in November 1990 on the
eve of Desert Storm, Tide of War
follows a covert team assembled
in Saudi Arabia for a mission
that could alter the course of his-
tory. The novel explores themes
of duty, honor, and humanity as
Captain Dillon Bombi prepares
his unit for a dangerous mission
into hostile territory. Characters
including Sergeant Luke Shoal-
water, civilian medic Miriam,
and Royal Marine Sergeant Mo
al-Asadi confront moral and
personal dilemmas amid the
chaos of war.
Described as authentic, relent-
less, and deeply human, the book
delves into the internal conflicts
soldiers face when duty clashes
with conscience.
Joung, a retired U.S. Army
officer living in Malta, is a life
member of the Veterans of For-
eign Wars and the Reserve Or-
ganization of America and is
also a member of Rotary Inter-
national.
The author will be present at
the event to introduce his book,
followed by a signing session.
