7 gozotoday | FRIDAY • 7 NOVEMBER 2025 SPORT GMA'S motocross and endu- ro riders represented Gozo this weekend in the Trofei Sociale MX Simeto Academy 2025, held at MX Simeto Park in Sicily un- der the warm hospitality of Do- menico Botta. The event formed part of a sportiv, social, and cul- tural exchange between Gozo and Sicily, promoting friendship, cooperation, and the shared pas- sion for motorsport between the two islands. The GMA team, with riders aged 6 to 42, delivered exception- al performances, achieving multi- ple podium finishes and best lap times across various categories. Outstanding Results: • Steve Xuereb – 1st in MX2E, 1st in Enduro, and Best Lap Time over- all, showing remarkable consistency and speed throughout the competi- tion. • Robert Spiteri – 2nd in MX2A, demonstrating strong technique and de- termination in a highly competitive field. • Trystn Theuma – 1st in 85S and winner of the Best Lap, highlighting his grow- ing talent and control on the track. • Liam (6 years old) – 2nd in 50A, achieved Best Lap in his class, and impressively placed 9th out of 50 in the Enduro competition — a remarkable result for the youngest GMA rider. • Joseph Jacob – 2nd in 65C, maintaining steady pace and focus throughout the event. • Craig Piscopo – 5th in 85J, putting in a strong perfor- mance against tough in- ternational competitors, achieving first place in 1st heat. Each rider's dedication and sportsmanship were evident both on and off the track, with the team proudly showcasing GMA's growing talent base and commit- ment to excellence in motocross and enduro disciplines. This international outing high- lighted not only the athletic prowess of GMA's young and senior riders but also the growing opportunities for regional coop- eration and cultural exchange through sport.
