9 gozotoday | FRIDAY • 12 DECEMBER 2025 CULTURE IMPRESSIONS from the Sea is a visual diary tracing the ar- tistic journey of an artist who has spent the past eight years living in Gozo. The exhibition explores colours, textures, and techniques that led to the development of a personal artistic language. The artist, Izabela Klara Biskupska describes the sea as a constant muse, with its shifting colours, subtle shades, dramat- ic lights, and rhythmic movements creating an al- most living presence. Dai- ly experiences of watch- ing, meditating by, and snorkelling in the sea have deepened this connection. Originally from Łódź, Poland, a city far from the coast, Biskupska had on- ly seen the sea twice as a child. In Gozo, surrounded by Mediterranean landscapes, the island provided the ideal envi- ronment to develop a unique artistic style. Each painting in the exhibition reflects the joy and challenge of capturing the sea's diversity and splendour. The second part of the exhibi- tion focuses on human expres- sions, presenting portraits that explore personality and emo- tion, including a special tribute to the artist's ginger cat, Cip- pollino. Visitors are encour- aged to enjoy the exhibition and share their impressions. Impressions from the Sea will be on until 28 December at Banca Giuratale, Victoria Gozo. Openning hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 2:30pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 12pm. Gozo exhibition explores the sea and human expression Impressions from the Sea will be on until 28 December at Banca Giuratale, Victoria THE village of Għajnsielem has unveiled a unique 60-foot Christmas tree that has quick- ly become a festive landmark. Built on a sturdy steel frame- work, the tree features metal- lic branches shaped to resem- ble a traditional evergreen. Over 4,500 colorful glass bottles adorn the structure, each carefully chosen for its vibrant hue and translucent quality. When sunlight pass- es through the bottles, they create sparkling, jewel-like effects and cast kaleidoscopic patterns on the surrounding area. The installation will be open daily from 10 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, with view- ing available from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm each day. Visitors are encouraged to experience the tree in person, which combines artistry and holiday spirit in one of Gozo's most picturesque villages.
