6 COMMERCIAL maltatoday | SUNDAY • 4 JANUARY 2026 APS Bank Townhall focuses on performance, growth and people APS Bank hosted its second Townhall of the year in Novem- ber at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Qawra, bringing close to 600 colleagues together for an after- noon focused on performance, people and growth. The session opened with an address by CEO Marcel Cassar, who reflected on the Bank's pro- gress while setting out priorities for the period ahead. Colleagues then took the stage to share their personal journeys at APS Bank, highlighting the power of performance through diverse experiences across the organi- sation. Updates followed on the Bank's financial developments, customer and performance in- sights, business success stories and growth initiatives, alongside presentations on investment distribution and the status of key projects. The Townhall also placed strong emphasis on people, with Qualification Awards, Sports Committee Awards and Values Awards recognising colleagues for their commitment, develop- ment and contribution to the Bank's culture. Commenting on the Town- hall, CEO Marcel Cassar said: "The Townhall is an occasion to appreciate, communicate and celebrate: our progress, achieve- ments and the people who make it all possible. This helps us stay focused on our purpose, as we continue to strengthen the foun- dations for sustainable growth and long-term value." BOV Foundation and Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna launch John Müller exhibition BANK of Valletta's longstanding collaboration with Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna was recently cele- brated with a new exhibition at the Malta Time-Gun Museum in Valletta, which was official- ly inaugurated during a visit by members of the BOV Founda- tion. The permanent exhibition, funded by the Bank of Valletta Foundation through its ongo- ing agreement with Fondazzjo- ni Wirt Artna, focuses on John Müller's eighteenth-century ar- tillery designs and different an- cillary equipment as detailed in his 'A Treatise of Artillery' pub- lished in 1759. Mario Farrugia, Executive Chairman of Fondazz- joni Wirt Artna, noted that 'A Treatise of Artillery', an original copy of which is exhibited in this exhibition, was the most influen- tial work on artillery published in English during the second half of the eighteenth century. The exhibition features several sci- entific models depicting mostly technical and logistical equip- ment used for the mounting or dismounting of cannon, trans- portation of ordnance, as well as the carriage of ammunition and repairs. During the visit, Mr Farrugia expressed his gratitude to Bank of Valletta for years of dedication to the Foundation, which offers hands-on heritage across its nine museums. He noted, "The Bank's funding has empowered the Foundation to pursue inno- vative approaches to preserve and present Malta's military and cultural heritage." The BOV Foundation was rep- resented by Anita Mangion and Isabella Cutajar, accompanied by Charles Azzopardi, Head of CSR, Events and Business Al- liances. On behalf of the BOV Foundation, Anita Mangion re- marked that the launch of this exhibition is a testament to the importance of historical knowl- edge and its relevance today. "The BOV Foundation remains committed to support such ini- tiatives. Through our collabora- tion with Fondazzjoni Wirt Art- na, we are proud to back projects that bring Malta's rich military history to life and make it acces- sible to the public," Ms Mangion stated. Charles Azzopardi echoed Mangion's remarks, stating, "The collaboration with Fon- dazzjoni Wirt Artna reflects the Bank's longstanding com- mitment to the community and heritage through its corporate social responsibility programme. Through the collaboration with Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna and its 'Hands-on-Heritage' pro- gramme, thousands of school- children have visited sites man- aged by FWA. The success of this collaboration between the BOV Foundation and FWA is a testament to the commitment from both parties towards edu- cation and our rich cultural her- itage. We are now well into the second generation of students attending these sessions, in sites that have continuously been upgraded through the efforts of Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna, which we are proud to call our partner."
