This workshop is specially designed for young people aged 16 to 30 who want to better understand and manage the complex emotions that arise when facing the climate crisis. Climate change is not just an environmental or political issue, it deeply affects our mental and emotional wellbeing. Many youths today experience emotions such as fear, anxiety, grief, anger, frustration, and even hopelessness when they think about the future of our planet. These feelings are natural but can feel overwhelm- ing without the right support. These workshops will be held in April 2026. Green idea of the week 1015 Don't miss this Give nature a voice. Jumping spider SPIDERS are generally feared, abhorred, swatted and sprayed into oblivion, and no amount of cute anecdotes will change most peo- ple's opinion. Pity, because they're such fascinating creatures and, like all living organisms, part of the intricate fabric of nature. All spiders produce silk but they don't all spin webs. Rather than wait patiently for a fly to career into a web, some spiders prefer to roam and actively hunt prey. The most familiar of these are the jump- ing spiders (M. brimb qabbież), so called as they often move about in small hops. They are familiar because we often see them on the walls of our homes patrolling for flies and mosquitoes, which they pounce on and rid us of – a free (and so often thankless) pest con- trol service. To pull off this trick, jumping spiders have relatively good eyesight, hence the four large front-facing eyes (they have four more). We know of about 20 species of jumping spiders in Malta so far, and all follow the same general life style. They're harmless to people too, so give that spraycan a break will you! Happy Easter. 5 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 5 APRIL 2026 ALMANAC Victor Falzon https://foemalta.org/blog/youth-workshop-climate-emotions/
