FINANCE Minister Clyde Caruana will not sign off on a metro project if he is not convinced of its financial feasibility. Caruana was speaking in an interview with MaltaTo- day in the same week gov- ernment unveiled its latest plans for a mass transport system. Asked whether he would give his blessing to the pro- ject, Caruana said it is still too early to say. "As finance minister, I have never made a decision that goes against my con- science. Let me be clear, if I disagree, I will say that I dis- agree, I cannot put my sig- nature on something I be- lieve is harmful. And if the general consensus is that we still need to go in that direction, it's like anything in life; when one pope dies, another takes his place," he said, hinting that for him the matter could be one of resignation.
