The group claims that five sepa- rate development applications have appeared on the site within the last six weeks. According to il-Kollettiv, these applications are being present- ed individually to bypass the condi- tions of the original rezoning permit. One specific application, filed by architect and former planning min- ister George Pullicino, is reported- ly seeking a "summary procedure." Il-Kollettiv warned that this allows the developers to skip necessary archaeological studies and signifi- cantly shortens the period available for residents to submit formal objec- tions. CONTINUES PAGE 2 WEDNESDAY EDITION 162 candidates are vying for your vote on 30 May THERE are 162 candidates contesting the election that will be held on 30 May with five political parties fielding candidates on all districts. The final list of candidates was published by the Elec- toral Commission after the nomination period closed on Monday night. The Labour Party is field- ing 72 candidates, 55 of which are contesting on two districts. The PL has a total of 127 nominations with PL leader Robert Abela contest- ing on the 2 and 5 districts. The Nationalist Party is fielding 65 candidates, 42 of which are contesting on two districts. The PN has 107 nominations with its leader, Alex Borg, contesting on the 12 and 13 districts. ADPD is fielding eight can- didates, six of which are con- testing on two districts for a total of 14 nominations. ADPD Chairperson Sandra Gauci is contesting on the 6 and 12 districts. Momentum has seven can- didates, all of who are con- testing on two districts for a total of 14 nominations. Chairperson Arnold Cassola is contesting on the 9 and 10 districts. The new political party Aħ- wa Maltin is fielding seven candidates with each con- testing on two districts for a total of 14 nominations. Party leader Paul Salomone is contesting the 2 and 13 districts. Imperium Europa is field- ing only one candidate, Eman Cross, who will be contesting on the 1 and 9 districts.
