9 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 29 JULY 2026 CULTURE Valletta Pageant of the Seas - Spectacular in the Grand Harbour THE Valletta Pageant of the Seas was successfully held yes- terday, 24th July 2026, at the Grand Harbour. Organised by the Valletta Cultural Agency with the sup- port of Visit Malta, the spec- tacle transformed the Grand Harbour into an open-air stage on the water. Sea vessels, mu- sic, lights, fountains, lasers, and fireworks came together in a unique experience that cele- brated Malta's maritime herit- age and the natural and histori- cal beauty of Valletta. Thousands of people, fami- lies, and tourists gathered for almost three hours along the shore of the Grand Harbour, between Customs House and the Old Fish Market, while oth- ers took in the view from van- tage points such as the Upper Barrakka Gardens and Saint Barbara Bastion. The harbour came alive with an animated procession of vessels of all kinds in a strik- ing choreography enhanced by light design, musicians aboard a Maltese luzzu, and enormous fountains dancing on the sea. The evening closed spectacu- larly with an aerial fireworks display over the water, set against the backdrop of the Three Cities. By means of this event, the Valletta Cultural Agency con- tinues to strengthen its rep- utation as the organiser of high-calibre outdoor cultural events in the capital. The Val- letta Pageant of the Seas stands as a clear example of this vision, further reinforcing Valletta's profile as a leading cultural des- tination in the Mediterranean.
