24 cases, or 75%, over the same
period last year.
Victoria recorded the highest
number of road traffic acci-
dents in Gozo, with 90 cases. It
was followed by Xewkija with
44 and Nadur with 35.
Kercem, Fontana, Xaghra and
San Lawrenz each recorded
fewer than five accidents, while
no road traffic accidents were
reported in Ghasri during the
quarter.
Three fatalities nationwide
Across Malta and Gozo, three
people died in road traffic acci-
dents during the second quar-
ter. The fatalities involved two
men and one woman.
Nationally, the number of
road traffic accidents increased
by 1.1% to 4,072 when com-
pared with the same period in
2025.
Casualties rose more sharply,
increasing by 18% to 398.
Thursday was the day on
which most road traffic acci-
dents occurred, with 662 cases
recorded between April and
June, accounting for 16.3% of
all accidents.
Qormi once again recorded
the highest number of road
traffic accidents among locali-
ties nationwide, with 223 cases.
