9 gozotoday | FRIDAY • 21 AUGUST 2026 CULTURE Chansons sous les Étoiles: An Evening of Music under the Stars in Victoria THIS Friday's concert, Chan- sons sous les Étoiles, set against the evocative surroundings of Narrow Street (Ħara d-Dejqa) in the heart of Victoria, Gozo, brings together violinist Pierre Louis Attard and several local singers, accompanied by Colin Attard, promising an entertain- ing summer evening of music. The concert will present a var- ied programme that brings to- gether different musical styles, offering audiences an enjoyable journey through some much- loved repertoire. The evening will amove from the world of musical theatre to the music of celebrated English compos- er and songwriter Ivor Novello, alongside works by renowned vi- olinist and composer Fritz Kreis- ler. The programme will then explore the richness of the local and Mediterranean repertoire, featuring a selection of Maltese works by Stephen Attard and Jo- seph Vella, as well as the timeless melodies of Neapolitan classics. At the heart of the evening will be the violin playing of Pierre Louis Attard, accompanied by Francis Camilleri, as well as the voices of sopranos Anna Azz- opardi, Antonella Portelli and Annabel Zammit, with Colin Attard providing the musical ac- companiment. Chansons sous les Étoiles promises an enjoyable evening of live music in an informal and atmospheric setting, providing a fitting backdrop for a concert designed to be enjoyed outdoors on a summer evening. Admis- sion is free. WINE lovers are being invited to Nadur this weekend for the 22nd edition of the Delicata Classic Wine Festival, taking place on Fri- day 21 and Saturday 22 August at Ġnien il-Kunsill. The two-night festival, which has free entry, will feature more than 20 Delicata wines, including Malta's indigenous grape varieties Ġirgentina and Ġellewża. Visitors will also be able to en- joy live cooking stalls and music throughout the evening, with TV personality Ronald Briffa hosting the event. Friday's entertainment line-up includes Rebecca & The Passen- gers, Cash & Band and DJ Alex Grech, while Saturday will feature StraitAhead, RUG and DJ Salvo B. Doors open at 7pm, with wine service running until 11.30pm. The festival will close at midnight on both nights. Wine will be served exclusive- ly by the glass, with each 125ml pour exchanged for wine coins. Festival-goers can also purchase a festival wine purse containing 24 wine coins and a souvenir glass to take home. Organisers are encouraging vis- itors to attend responsibly, with ride-sharing available through fes- tival partner Bolt. Public transport and the taxi rank at Mġarr are also among the options for getting to and from the event. Wine will not be served to any- one under the age of 17, organis- ers said. The Gozo edition of the festival is being organised by Delicata in collaboration with the Nadur Lo- cal Council, with support from Visit Malta, the Ministry for Gozo and Planning, Petrolea, Refpro and Mapfre.
