Gozo International Puppet Festival to
feature theatre show and workshops
THE Gozo International Puppet
Festival will feature a series of
free indoor events this weekend,
including performances by inter-
nationally renowned puppeteer
Bernd Ogrodnik.
Ogrodnik will present Metamor-
phosis – Poetry in Motion at the
Għarb Parish Theatre on Friday,
25 September, and Saturday, 26
September, at 6pm.
The production uses carved
wood, strings, fabric and hands
to create characters that appear
to come alive, without dialogue.
The performances are suitable for
families and children aged six and
over. Only two performances will
take place, with booking required.
Tickets are free.
The festival will also host work-
shops on Saturday, 26 September,
and Sunday, 27 September, where
participants will learn to animate
and control semi-giant puppets.
The workshops are open to chil-
dren aged six and over as well as
adults, with a maximum of 20 par-
ticipants per session. Several time
slots are available through the
booking form.
All indoor festival events are
free, but advance booking is re-
quired. The programme for out-
door activities remains subject to
weather conditions.
The festival will also host workshops on
