The service was introduced following the identification of a need for a safe and supportive en- vironment where people can so- cialise, develop new friendships and take part in educational, so- cial and cultural activities. The initiative seeks to en- courage social interaction and strengthen participants' sense of belonging within the communi- ty by providing opportunities to share experiences, discover com- mon interests and develop mutu- al support. Activities include art, music, creative work, cooking, exercise, walks, gardening and relaxation sessions, alongside practical life- skills training, outings and com- munity activities. Participants are encouraged to take part according to their in- terests, abilities and individual pace, with the service designed to promote wellbeing and social inclusion. The service is coordinated by Jeanette Falzon, who supports participants and encourages them to develop their abilities. Dar Manresa's wellbeing ser- vice is open on Mondays and Tuesdays between 11.30am and 4.30pm, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 7.30am and 12.30pm. People interested in using the service can contact Caritas Gozo on 2155 1723 or 7977 1723. The launch comes as Pope Leo XIV dedicates his prayer inten- tion for October to people facing mental health challenges and the ministry supporting them. GEOLOGICAL investigations at Calypso's Cave in Xagħra, Gozo, are expected to pave the way for preservation and sta- bilisation works aimed at pre- venting further deterioration of the site. The update was given by Gozo Minister Clint Camill- eri on Tuesday in response to a parliamentary question by Nationalist MP Frank Antho- ny Tabone on Tuesday. Camilleri said tender SPD3/2026/031, covering ge- ological investigations at and around Calypso's Cave within the limits of Xagħra, was pub- lished on 30 September and is due to close on 21 October. Once the tender has been awarded and the necessary geo- logical investigations complet- ed, the process will move on to the preparation and publica- tion of a separate tender for the preservation and stabilisation of the cave. Tabone had asked the minis- ter to provide an update on the project and clarify whether any work had already been carried out to preserve the cave. He al- so asked for details of the work completed so far and the meas- ures planned to prevent the site from continuing to collapse. Camilleri's reply did not spec- ify whether any preservation works had already been under- taken, focusing instead on the geological investigations that must precede the planned sta- bilisation works.
