Violinists perform for children
at Gozo Central Public Library
GOZO Central Public Library
hosted a violin performance
for children on Saturday, 24
October, as part of the three-
week programme Mad-Daqqa
tal-Bakketta.
The ensemble featured violin-
ists Guillermo Ganet Martin-
ez, Krista Attard, Jade Caruana,
Raquel Marie Azzopardi and
Miriana Falzon, under the direc-
tion of Pierre Louis Attard.
The musicians, who study at the
Gozo Visual and Performing Arts
School, performed several pieces
and introduced children to the
violin and its different sounds, in-
cluding the pizzicato technique,
which involves plucking the
strings rather than using a bow.
The event also included a story-
telling session by Lorraine from
the National Literacy Agency,
who read a story about an or-
chestra.
The library said the event at-
tracted a large audience, with
limited seating available. The ac-
tivity formed part of Mad-Daqqa
tal-Bakketta, a programme aimed
at introducing children to music
through performances and story-
telling.
