estled in Naxxar, Malta, this three-
bedroom single-family home is a
stunning testament to architectural
resurrection. What began as a dilapidated
maisonette has been thoughtfully
transformed into a curated masterpiece for
modern family life.
By painstakingly preserving the structure's
original heritage features and pairing them
with a striking contemporary intervention,
the design achieves a beautiful, quiet
tension between the past and the present.
To expand the home's footprint, an
elegantly designed sleeping quarter
extension was introduced to the rear of
the property. The genius of the spatial
planning, however, lies in how these two
distinct eras are brought together.
An architectural loggia serves as the
vital connective tissue between the
historic shell and the modern addition.
Acting as a fluid transitional threshold,
the loggia not only bridges the two
volumes but blurs the boundary
