VICTORIA Park is among a
series of projects planned in
the capital, with permits for the
park and an underground park-
ing facility expected to be
approved next year,
Gozo Minister
Clint Camilleri
said in a press
conference
on Thurs-
day.
"We will
also begin
two other
i m p o r t a n t
projects in Ra-
bat: the regener-
ation of the playing
field, to create a more
modern and accessible recrea-
t i o n a l
s p a c e
for fam-
ilies and
c h i l d r e n ,
and the mod-
ernisation of the
main bus terminus," he said.
The minister also referred
to plans for Siege Square, a
3,100sq.m site in Victoria cur-
rently used as a car park. The
proposal is to develop mul-
ti-level parking, with a green
space above it.
"Through the proposal for
multi-level parking and a green
space above it, we believe we
will maximise the use of this
site while addressing several
existing challenges in Victoria,"
Camilleri said.

POWER outages were the biggest
challenge facing Gozitan tourism
establishments this summer, ac-
cording to a survey conducted by
the Gozo Tourism Association
(GTA).
The survey found that 64.6%
of tourism businesses on the is-
land identified power cuts as one
of the main challenges they faced
throughout the summer.
The findings follow another sum-
mer marked by widespread power
outages during heatwaves, with
Gozo no exception.
