3 CULTURE maltatoday | SUNDAY • 8 NOVEMBER 2026 and Flows visible on maps, she reflects on how Maltese people sometimes undervalue their identity, seek- ing recognition elsewhere. Dis- tance, however, has given her a renewed perspective and con- fidence in acknowledging her origins. This resonates with her wider artistic pursuit of giving value to what remains unseen. Making the barely vis- ible present thus becomes an assertion of identity as much as an artistic gesture. Ultimately, Galea does not prescribe how her work should be interpreted. She hopes it communicates something sen- sorially, without requiring ex- planation, leaving viewers with a sense of mystery and a qui- eter yet defiant presence. This refusal to resolve meaning is perhaps the exhibition's most distinctive quality. Its ambigu- ity is not an absence of inten- tion, but an invitation to em- brace uncertainty. This exhibition reminds us that not everything meaning- ful needs to be fully exposed, defined or completed. Some- times, the faintest trace carries the greatest weight. By giving space to what is overlooked and allowing the unresolved to retain its mystery, Galea pro- poses a different way of seeing: one that values attentiveness over certainty and presence over spectacle. Għadajjar Għajnejja: Ebbs and Flows will be on display until 12 November 2026 at the Malta Society of Arts, Palazzo de La Salle, Valletta. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and Satur- day, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The exhibition catalogue launch and finissage will take place on 18 november at 7:00 pm, fea- turing a discussion with Raph- ael Vella, followed by a sound performance by Kurt Buttigieg. Miriam Galea TOI TOI presents Collar: Three collars, endless possibilities An engaging and thought-provoking production which encourages young people to explore their aspirations and discover that choosing a path is just one part of life's journey TEATRU Manoel's TOI TOI Learning and Participation Programme presents Collar, a production aimed at young audiences aged 12+, exploring the challenges and possibili- ties of choosing the right ca- reer path. Led by Creative Producer Sarah Grech, Collar invites young audiences to reflect on life from different perspec- tives and stages, encouraging them to step back and con- sider the bigger picture when making important decisions about their future. Through the exploration of three different collars: blue, white and yellow, the produc- tion raises thought-provoking questions about career choic- es, expectations and the pos- sibility of taking a different path. Which collar will you choose? And what happens if you realize it is not the right fit for you? Collar will be performed on Saturday, 14 November 2026, at 5:00pm, at Teatru Manoel's Studio Theatre in Valletta.
