Hibernians managed to collect maximum points from their first seven games of the season. Sliema managed to take the lead on the 44th minute. A freekick by Paltemio Barbetti was blocked by the Hibernians defence and off the rebound, Trevor Cilia beat goalkeeper Mario Muscat with his shot. On the 61st minute, Hibernians managed to get back into the match after they scored the equaliser. A freekick by Clayton Failla was partially saved by goalkeeper Henry Bonello and off the rebound Jackson di Lima Siqueira found the back of the net with his shot. Hibernians managed to take the lead just four minutes later when off a cross by Clayton Failla, Andrew Cohen beat goalkeeper Henry Bonello with his header. Hibernians would be denied all three points when on the 78th minute, Sliema made the score 2-2. Off a freekick by Matias Muchardi, Alex Muscta managed to beat Mario Muscat with his shot. Jackson de Lima Siqueira was voted BOV Player of the Match.
