Rabat now move out of the bottom spot, sitting one point ahead of Floriana. Tarxien immediately started on the attach and almost went ahead on the fifth minute. Ronaille Calheira Seara's shot hit the woodwork and bounced back in the area before it was cleared to safety. On the other side of the pitch, Rabat's Clifford Gauci had his effort saved by goalkeeper Nicky Vella. Both teams continued to have their fair share of scoring opportunities, but the first have remained goalless. On the 62nd minute, Tarxien were reduced to ten men after Fernando Lopes Alcantara was shown his second yellow card of the match. Rabat managed to score the goal that would give them victory on the 84th minute. Off a pass by Moises Avila Perez, Diego Carrillo easily beat goalkeeper Nicky Vella with his shot. Jorge Santos Silva was voted BOV Player of the Match.
