NOVEMBER 1 One Piano, Four Hands Piano recital by Anne Borg and Ivette Kiefer at the Manoel Theatre, Valletta. Programme includes Mozart, Bizet, Schubert and Dvorak. NOVEMBER 3 Mistura Performance by the Maltese-language blues-rock duo at Coach and Horses, Valley Road, Msida. DECEMBER 7 Clandestines – Saturday as Usual album launch The indie band will be launching their debut album at Duke's, St George's Bay, St Julian's. Dolls for Idols will be the supporting act. THEATRE & DANCE TONIGHT In Lo(e)verland Dance performance by Greek dancer and choreographer Athanasia Kanellopoulou at Manoel Theatre, Valletta at 20:00. NOVEMBER 1-3 Il-Hajja Sigrieta ta' Nanna Genoveffa Adaptation of the Trevor Zahra novella for the stage by Unifaun Productions, held at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University of Malta, at 20:00. Directed by Marcelle Teuma. Cast includes Chris Galea, Marta Vella and Maria Buckle. Choreography by Laura Best and David Bonnici. NOVEMBER 1-3; 8-10 The Lockerbie Bomber DnA Theatre production of Kenneth N Ross's play at St James Cavalier, Valletta, 20:00. The play explores the possibility that Abdelbaset al Megrahi, the Libyan man eventually tried and convicted for the bombing, could have been a scapegoat, and that governments may have systematically covered up the truth behind the bombing for years. Directed by Herman Grech. Cast includes Mikhail Basmadjian, Julia Calvert, Manuel Cauchi, Alan Montanaro, Denise Mulholland and Alan Paris. Tickets are at €15. UNTIL NOVEMBER 10 The 'National Book Festival' (formerly the National Book Fair) will will be taking place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre between 13 and 17 November 4 Rooms Photographic exhibition by Ritty Tacsum at the Upper Galleries of St James Cavalier, Valletta. The project is accompanied by a four-part short story by Loranne Vella – published in an exhibition booklet designed by artist Julian Mallia. UNTIL NOVEMBER 10 Divergent Thinkers 2 Collective exhibition presenting the work of young artists, curated by Raphael Vella and taking place at St James Cavalier, Valletta. Featuring the work of Aaron Bezzina, Adrian Gauci, Gabriel Buttigieg, Ryan Falzon, Javier Joseph Formosa, Darren Tanti, Stephanie Sant and Samuel Sultana, with Kris Camilleri, Jean Paul Cassar, Jeffery Dimech, Karachalios Kostas Jennifer Mallia and Elisa Von Brockdorff. Entrance is at €1. BOOKS OCTOBER 31 Book and Paper Conservation in Practice Illustrated lecture by Theresa Zammit Lupi at Palazzo Santa Sofia (a few doors down from Palazzo Falson), Mdina at 18:30. Zammit Lupi will discuss some of the important works in paper she has handled, researched and treated, and the far-flung places to which her work has taken her. Entrance is free of charge. NOVEMBER 13-17 National Book Festival Annual book fair at the Malta Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta, now rechristened as the 'National Book Festival', "in order to mark the inclusive and holistic nature of this prestigious annual event". As the tradition goes, during this event, publishers, authors and bookshops will showcase their material, both old and new. During the Festival, different activities will be held from publishers, authors, artists and the National Book Council itself. This year, the NBC will also be launching a literary journal in order to promote emerging and yet unpublished authors. During weekday mornings, a programme of events aimed at school children will be held by the Education Department and other entities such as the Centre for Literacy of the University of Malta and the weekend will be jam-packed with activities aimed at people of all ages.
