maltatoday, WEDNESDAY, 11 DECEMBER 2013 15 Make Seabank your Christmas Gift YVETTE OQVIST As soon as I stepped through the beautifully decorated entrance of the Seabank Resort the warmth of welcome from reception staff and the festive atmosphere made the tension of the week disappear and I felt myself relaxing and soaking up the Christmas cheer. From the artistically crafted Gingerbread Village with moving train and windmill, the tasteful nativity scene, together with the mulled wine and mince pies brought the spirit of Christmas well and truly to life. Of course no Christmas celebration would be complete without a visit from Santa and the children weren't disappointed as he listened to their wishes and gave out presents, he even received a few kisses from some of the more mature guests! The Seabank is an ideal venue for both corporate and private events with an impressive range of areas, five restaurants and a dedicated wedding olive grove. Christmas parties large or intimate can be catered for and the extensive menus will meet the approval of the most refined pallets. From local cuisine to Asian temptations their chefs deliver every time. My family and I ate in the Coral restaurant and enjoyed a varied buffet with food being freshly prepared and served. The range of choice was remarkable and choosing one dessert proved impossible for my daughter and I, so we opted for small portions of several; the chocolate gateau was delicious. Having worked as an Event Manager, planning an event of any size at the Seabank would be a pleasure, not only are the staff dedicated and helpful, the spacious areas and variety of areas means that delegates would never be bored or cramped. The Dome with its large stage and the latest in lighting and sound equipment is ideal for product launches, fashion shows and presentations. It would be perfect for Corporate Family Days as everyone's needs would be catered for effortlessly. The Seabank has recently undergone an intensive refurbishment programme and it shows. The bedrooms are large and modern with private balconies and sun beds where we enjoyed a breathtaking view of Ghadira bay. To the rear of the hotel views look over the peaceful countryside. The pool area is ideal for relaxing and soaking up the sun and with a dedicated kid's animation programme parents can take time to unwind. While the children were busy swimming and playing in the games room I enjoyed the spa facilities. After a sauna and a visit to the steam room I was treated to a relaxing facial. After only one night's stay, we all said we felt that we had enjoyed a mini holiday. Celebrating Christmas with colleagues, family or friends here would be a truly memorable experience. The specially crafted Christmas menus, atmosphere and entertainment will certainly put you in the holiday mood. "We understand the magic of Christmas and the spirit of giving", says Ivan Borg Ferrando the Assistant General Manager and he means it, as they will be giving away many surprise gifts to guests at events on the run up to Christmas. Get in on the lavish buffet on Christmas Eve, indulge in an early breakfast on Christmas morning, be a part of their grand buffet on Christmas Day or their New Year's Eve extravaganza and come and nurse your hangover at their New Year's Day lucheon. Or if you are organising a staff party, let Seabank do all the hard work so you can kick back and enjoy the merriment of the season.
