Programme features: Beethoven Coriolan Overture, Schumann Cello Concerto in A minor, op 129 (soloist: Simon Abdilla Joslin), Sibelius Swan of Tuonela and Symphony no 7 in C major, Op. 105. FEBRUARY 14 Splendid Valentine Valentine's Day party at The Splendid, Strait Street, Valletta organised by Pastizzi Gourmet from 20:00. Featuring food by Pastizzi Gourmet, music, an art exhibition and stand- up comedy by Malcolm Alden and Malcolm Galea. FEBRUARY 20 Spotlight Concert: Tricia Dawn Williams Concert by pianist Tricia Dawn Williams at the Manoel Theatre, Valletta at 20:00. Williams will be performing a programme of 20th century and contemporary works by Denis Levaillant (France), Béla Bartόk (Hungary), Ruben Zahra and Pawlu Grech (Malta) and Steve Antosca (United States). Each work will portray a different technique on the piano including extended piano technique and computer processed piano sampling. Tickets are €10. MARCH 7 The Composer Conducts - MPO Concert Series Concert by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra at the Manoel Theatre, Valletta at 19:30. MPO resident composer Joseph Vella the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. MPO Principal Double Bassist Gjorgji Cincievski is the featured soloist in Bottesini's concerto for Double Bass and Orchestra. The Concert includes Joseph Vella's composition 'Symphonic Variations on a Theme by Chopin op 131' commissioned by Prof. Robert Ghirlando in Memory of Maria Ghirilando. Tickets are €30, €20, €10.
