Rabat managed to take the lead as early as the seventh minute when they were awarded a pen- alty. Ryan Micallef was brought down inside the area by Clive Brincat to have the referee imme- diately point to the penalty spot. Ryan Micallef beat goalkeeper Mario Muscat from the spot to give Rabat the lead. Vittoriosa started to increase the pressure to try to get back in the game. Vittoriosa came close to scor- ing on the half-hour mark. Off a freekick by Oscar Guerrero, Clive Brincat was unlucky to hit the woodwork with his header. Two minutes later, Vittoriosa fi- nally managed to get back in the game when they leveled matters. Marcelo Pereira had his shot just beat goalkeeper Pavle Velimirovic to make the score 1-1. Vittoriosa continued to control the match and they managed to take the lead on the 43rd minute. With this result they sit on top of the BOV Premier League table one point ahead of Birkirkara who still have to play Sliema Wander- ers today. Valletta did not waste any time as they took the lead as early as the 12th minute. Luke Montebello had his shot partially saved by goalkeeper Omar Borg, and off the rebound Denni Rocha dos Santos easily scored from close range. Valletta doubled their lead on the 29th minute. Off a pass by Ab- delkerim Naft, Denni Rocha dos Santos had his shot from inside the area beat the Mosta goalkeep- er. Just before the first half ended, Valletta made it 3-0. Ryan Fenech stole possession in midfield and easily beat goalkeeper Omar Borg when he lobbed the ball over him. Valletta made it 4-0 on the 53rd minute. Abdelkarim Nafti served Luke Montebello and the latter beat Omar Borg with his power- ful shot from inside the area. On the 77th minute, the match was totally out of reach for Mosta when Valletta made it 5-0.
