The rest will not be for long, this upcoming Thursday sees the return of Ampthill Town C.C who will be on their sixth tour too play in a two game series. Af- ter that their will be a further sight touring teams till the end of June. To date Nowell Khosla has scored the most runs against touring teams this year with 330 runs while Niraj Khanna scored 206. In the bowling department Kevin Krishna has been the most successful with ten wick- ets while Joy Ghoseroy and Sumair Khan have taken nine each. John Grima has been fantastic behind the stumps taking ten stumpings and a catch. Last Tuesday was the last of those games against Romiley C.C. The home team were looking for a win to tie the series. Romiley won the toss and elected to bat first in the twenty over en- counter. The Marsa team bowled well and kept them down to 130 runs. Tom Rolph top scored with thirty three runs. Rob Booker (twenty one runs), James Badrock (seventeen runs) and Ben Allcock (sixteen runs) were the other main scorers. For the home team a mar- vellous opening spell from Waseem Abbas only had seven runs taken from it, unfortunately no wickets for Waseem. Mike Caruana took two wickets while Justin Brooke, Patrick Brooke and Sid Anand took a wicket each. The Marsa team tried hard and struggled to be all out for 117 runs. After losing three wickets within eight overs with only thirty four runs it was always going to be a struggle. Bikram Arora (thirty six runs) and John Grima (twenty one runs) provided some hope putting on a sixty five run partnership. Ex- tras were twenty one and Nowell Khosla made sixteen as being the high scorers for the team. For Romi- ley B.Flatley wasa the main wicket taker with three, Paul Garner took two while Ed Mallinson and S.Milne took one each. The visitors win the game and the series. One must acknowledge the local umpires Alan Swift and Les White for umpiring during many of the above mentioned games, well done to the both of you. On Saturday the Sunoco Cricket Academy will be from 9:00 till 10:30 am before the second game against Ampthill Town.
