MAY 10, 11 Bla Konfini/Borderless Dance performance at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta at 21:00, choreographed by Mavin Khoo, in collaboration with percussionist Renzo Spiteri and artist Pierre Portelli. The series features Maltese and Scottish flautists studying at Edinburgh Napier University performing in various flute ensembles. The series is funded by the Napier Student Initiative Grant and the Malta Arts Fund. The first concert in the series features Maltese flautists Laura Cioffi and Clara Galea, known as Duo Aulos, performing a selection of works written for 2 flutes and piano with the talented pianist Gisèle Grima, an Napier University alumnus herself. All the three performers are Ian Tomlin Scholars. MAY 16, 17 Organ at the Fore! Organ concerto at Robert Samut Hall, Floriana by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra at 19:30, conducted by Joseph Vella. VISUAL ARTS CONTINUES BY APPOINTMENT Retrospective by Norbert Attard Retrospective exhibition by artist Norbert Attard at Gozo Contemporary, 11, Mongur Street, Gharb, Gozo. Art works spanning 40 years will be on display. These include Attard's early paintings, drawings and lino cuts from the formative years, limited edition prints (including the Walled Cities, Mihrab and Kimono series) and abstract paintings from the 1970s, 80s, 90s, and photographic prints and sculptures, from his most recent conceptual phase.
