Art works spanning 40 years will be on display. ese include Attard's early paintings, drawings and lino cuts from the formative years, limited edition prints (including the Walled Cities, Mihrab and Kimono series) and abstract paintings from the 1970s, 80s, 90s, and photographic prints and sculptures, from his most recent conceptual phase. JULY 26 – AUGUST 22 Paġni - Pass the Parcel Paġni, an exhibition in the main hall at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta, is a result of the project Pass the Parcel, which was organised with Y.O.U.R.S. (Young Offenders Unit Rehabilitation Services) and Female residents at Corradino Correctional Facility. is project started back in October 2013 and is supported by Fondazzjoni Ċentru Għall- Kreattività and Premju tal-President Għall- Kreattività. JULY 12 – AUGUST 24 Ġgantija 2013 Project - Final Exhibition Ġgantija 2013 Project is an ongoing- multidisciplinary work embracing music, visual art and literature. e project aims to dialogue with Ġgantija, a Unesco World Heritage Site situated on the island of Gozo through the use of contemporary media. Curated by Dr Vince Briffa, this artistic initiative is a group effort between composer Mariella Cassar, artist Victor Agius and the international acclaimed Maltese writer Immanuel Mifsud. e exhibition is located in the Upper Galleries at St James Cavalier. AUGUST 6 – 27 Rosella Schembri at Villa Bologna Rosella Schembri, potter at Space for Clay is Visiting Artist at Ceramika Maltija and the Villa Bologna gift shop during the month of August. She will be on site every Wednesday (10.30- 13.00hrs) and Saturday morning (12.30-15.30hrs). Her exhibition of ceramics will be on display in the gift shop every day from Monday to Saturday 9am to 7pm. In January 2014, e Villa Bologna Gift Shop launched a monthly 'Visiting Artist Programme' . FESTIVALS AUGUST 2 - 31 The Bieganski Art Festival A month-long festival at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta, commemorating 100 years from the outbreak of WWI and celebrating art in all its forms. e festival would feature: 75 local and foreign artists with paintings depicting WWI 47 local and foreign artists, exhibiting their works, 120 paintings from the Bieganski collection Master Artist Ray Pitre 9x7 ft collection 80 sketches and painting from French trench artist Galey. AUGUST 17 Mgarr Rock Festival (Gozo) e first Mgarr Rock Festival by the Gozo Culture will be featuring an interesting line-up with is.co, Ant in Alaska, e Cosmic Erotic & Hex Omega. e festival will be taking place at Manoel de Vilhena Street, Mgarr (in front of 'Horatio's' Upper Deck) with the first band kicking off at 18:00. Entrance is free. HERITAGE AUGUST 15 Reduced admission to Gozo Citadel sites Heritage Malta are offering a reduced fee to access the Gozo Museum of Archeology, the Old Prison and the Folklore Museum. A €2 entrance ticket gives holders access to all three sites between 09:00 and 17:00. e Gozo Nature Museum is closed until further notice. MUSIC AUGUST 15, 16 Clint Campisi and CUSP live at Django Jazz Bar Over two evenings, Valletta's Django Jazz Bar will be hosting two music gigs. Clint Campisi, playing on 15 August, is an Australian guitarist/songwriter who spent the past 10 years in Europe and will be teaming up with Benji Cachia and Alan Portelli. On 16 August, CUSP, made up of Luke Briffa on drums, Alan Portelli on bass and Jes Psaila on guitar, will be playing original compositions and jazz arrangements. Entrance is €5 each evening.
