The MEBF Arena hosted Rank No.1 with the Over 40s Final, con- tested between Downtown's Con- rad Catania against his former club team mate Jesmond Schem- bri. Conrad was in great form, which duly resulted in an 8-5 win. Roberta Cutajar continued her dominance in the Ladies Category by outclassing Lorna Micallef with a 6-1 score. The match reached a stalemate after the second frame when Micallef levelled at 1-1, but after that, it was all Robs, as in fact, Roberta truly robbed the show by winning the rest of the frames. The Under 18s Final was prob- ably the most surprising match of the evening when Leon Azzop- ardi locked horns with Joseph Fit- eni. The last season's hero of 147 Snooker Hall C, rose to the occa- sion and defeated the "Lion" 8-7 in a very close ending. As expected, Fiteni won his first ever triumph in a ranking event. Meanwhile, in the Under 23s category, Gary Carr met Selmun Bar's Shawn Deguara in quite an exciting finale. Garry picked up from where he left last season by defeating Deguara by a margin of 5 frames at 10-5. The MEBF Arena, hosted the match of the evening, that between Clint Azzopardi versus Maverick Zammit. The much anticipating encounter started at 9:30pm with both players looking very much in form. Maverick locked the game to a 10-7 victory, thus bringing the curtains down on a very suc- cessful first ranking tournament, organized by the Malta Eight Ball Federation. Maverick Zammit
