The England midfielder latched onto Raheem Sterling's pass to set the Reds en route to their 2-1 victory, cancelling out Saido Be- rahino's penalt y equaliser. Adam Lallana fired his first Liv- erpool goal to the put the hosts in front, only for Dejan Lovren to fell Berahino in his own box. The England Under-21 star blasted home his sixth goal of the season in all competitions, his fourth in three games following a brace against Burnley. Former Sunderland man Hend- erson spared Liverpool 's blushes six minutes later though, to end a run of four games without a win in all competitions. Yaya Toure sent a message to his critics as he and Sergio Aguero struck late to secure a 2-0 win for Manchester Cit y at Aston Villa. Toure had endured another qui- et game but underlined his class when he broke Villa's spirited re- sistance with a superb long-range strike eight minutes from time at Villa Park. Aguero, who had earlier hit the post, then wrapped up three points for the Barclays Premier League champions with an equal- ly classy finish after 88 minutes. The result was probably what Cit y deserved for their second- half dominance but Villa came close to frustrating Manuel Pel- legrini 's men. Papiss Cisse's second brace of goals in three matches this season was not enough to ease the huge pressure on Newcastle manager Alan Pardew. Newcastle clawed their way to a creditable 2-2 draw at Swansea, but the Tynesiders are still hunt- ing their first league victory of the campaign. Wilfried Bony put the hosts ahead with his first goal of the term, before Gabriel Obertan teed up Cisse to level just before half- time. Gylfi Sigurdsson set up Wayne Routledge to put Swansea back in front after the restart, only for Cisse to level again, this time Sammy Ameobi providing the as- sist. Check out Sky Bet's Premier League markets Steven Fletcher ended a 14- match barren streak for Sunder- land, finding the net twice in the Black Cats' 3-1 home victory over Stoke. Connor Wickham claimed his first of the campaign to put Sun- derland ahead, before Charlie Ad- am scored just his second goal in 17 matches for the visitors. Fletcher then wrestled back the lead for Gus Poyet's men from a Jordi Gomez cross, before Wick- ham laid on his second. Hull saw off in-form Crystal Pal- ace with a 2-0 home victory, Mo- hamed Diame opening the scoring after Andrew Robertson's cross. Nikica Jelavic killed the game off in the closing stages, with Jake Livermore providing the assist. Ross Wallace's last-gasp free- kick earned Burnley a 2-2 draw with Leicester at the King Power Stadium. The hosts were heading for vic- tory thanks to goals from Jeff Sch- lupp and Riyad Mahrez, but Wal- lace fired a leveller on the stroke of full-time to steal a point for Burnley. The hosts took the lead with Schlupp firing his first Premier League goal before Michael Kight- ly equalised. Leicester hit back just a minute later though, with Mahrez head- ing home, only for Wallace to lev- el again at the death. Barcelona retain top spot BARCELONA remain at the top of the Primera Division table follow- ing a comfortable 2-0 win at Rayo Vallecano, who had two men sent off in the second half. The Madrid side made a promis- ing start to the game but Lionel Messi got the visitors off the mark after 34 minutes and a moment lat- er Neymar doubled the advantage to kill off Rayo's hopes. The hosts were reduced to 10 men on the hour mark when Jorge Mor- cillo received a second booking, and Rayo forward Javier Aquino suf- fered the same fate in injury time, but they conceded no further goals. Barca goalkeeper Claudio Bravo also made club history by keeping a record seventh consecutive clean sheet, and the Chilean made a vi- tal save early on to prevent Alberto Bueno from giving Rayo the lead after nine minutes, diving across goal to tip the forward's driven shot around the post. Atletico Madrid suffered their first defeat of the season as they were overpowered by a rampant Va- lencia side, who scored three goals in a chaotic opening 13 minutes to win 3-1 at the Mestalla. A shock own goal from Miranda put the hosts in front with just six minutes played and a well-taken goal by Andre Gomes doubled their lead a minute later, while Nicolas Otamendi's header completed the early blitz. Mario Mandzukic hit back for Atletico and threatened to spark a revival, but hopes of staging a comeback were stopped in their tracks when Guilherme Siqueira had a penalty before the break saved by Diego Alves. Substitute Alessio Cerci thought he had scored a con- solation goal for Atleti in stoppage time, but the effort was chalked off for handball and he was subse- quently sent off for a second yellow card. On Friday night, Baba Diawara's 89th-minute equaliser earned Getafe a 1-1 draw and denied Cor- doba a first win of the Primera Divi- sion season on Friday night. Diawara poked home to cancel out Patrick Ekeng Ekeng's opener in the 78th minute as an otherwise poor match finished in dramatic fash- ion.
