Events 39 maltatoday, Sunday, 5 OctOber 2014 Gabrielle Chanel was fascinated by the art of poetry. She shared with poets the same spirit and aspira- tion for beauty. And beyond verses or clothing lay the idea of absolute perfection, invisible to the eye. For this collection, the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio draws inspiration from a colour steeped in poetic tenderness: pink, inter- preted in a spectrum of shades, an intense and fragile colour palette. Between tenderness and passion The eyes are naturally at the very heart of this poetic and romantic collection. As intense and chang- ing as our emotions, eyeshadows can be applied as a monochrome shade, layered and blended or used to sculpt the eyes for a more strik- ing look. All shades of pink are at work: pale and shimmery pinks, bright pinks or raspberry. Purple and blackcurrant tones worn on the eyelids highlight and intensify the eyes. A touch of bold yellow on the inner corner of the eye and a stormy grey lacquer on the nails are a reminder of the ca- pricious nature of love, which can shift from the shadows to full in the blink of an eye. The smile adopts the same colour variation, illuminated by the scin- tillating textures of the lip glosses and the shiny textures of the lip- sticks. A harmony that celebrates contrast in endless combinations. A sheer gloss and pearly nail col- our express the ebb and flow of the heart through multicoloured hues. Eyes Dominated by pink, the palette of eye shadows brings tenderness or passion in infinite variations. Écriture de Chanel The new eyeliner by Chanel com- bines simplicity and definition to create a personalized makeup re- sult. Its soft felt-tip applicator al- lows you to draw a more defined, precise and adjustable line in one easy stroke: thick or thin, along the lashes or with a graphic effect on the eyelid. Available in two classic and intense shades – Noir and Brun. Ombre Essentielle The monochrome eyeshadow by Chanel gains intensity. Tender or passionate, eyelids are adorned with assertive, vibrant and uncompro- mising colour. Sensation: a light shimmery pink as sweet as a serenade. Palpitation: a deep pink to fade into the eyelids. Hesitation: an intense rosewood for all harmonies, whether romantic or sensual. Pulsion: a deep blackcurrant to sculpt the eyes for a swooning ef- fect. Exaltation: an invigorating rasp- berry pink, an ode to femininity. Admiration: bright and surprising, a buttercup yellow to play with like an element of style. Les 4 Ombres Poesie The gradation of shadows opts for a palette of light and dark tones for contrasting eye makeup that wavers between softness and intensity. Two medium shades of beige blend to- gether to create a satiny nude base. A pure, light rosewood illuminates the inner corner of the eye. Reddish brown with violet-plum shimmers makes eye makeup even more dra- matic: a line drawn along the lashes in a single intense colour or with a smoky effect, creating a look that moves from innocence to seduc- tion. Lips The smile lights up with shiny lipstick or scintillating gloss. Each shade of Rouge Coco Shine and Levres Scintillantes matches the eyeshadows and nail colours of the collection. Emotion chooses its col- ours, in harmony or in contrast. Chanel is distributed by Alfred Gera & Sons Ltd Bleu de Chanel – Eau de Parfum pour homme Launched in 2010 and incarnated by French actor Gaspard Ulliel, the Bleu De Chanel – Eau de Toilette has become the olfactory banner for male ant conform- ism. An untamed, penetrating and lingering freshness that appeals to the liberated man. Now an immediately identifiable signa- ture, the unique fragrance is expanding to include a new family member that stays true to the first opus, while asserting its own strong character. An Eau de Parfum version that exudes a sensuality like no other directly against the skin. A new chromatic vibration There is an obsession at the core of Chanel Perfumery that dwells within each composition: the quality of ingre- dients. Beyond the style and elegance of the House of Chanel, the desire to use the finest raw materials, whether natural or synthetic, has always been a priority. It is what distinguishes Chanel fragrances for men and women alike and creates unique olfactory trail. In 2014, Jacques Polge and the Fragrance Laboratory teams present a new interpre- tation of Bleu de Chanel. An intense vari- ation that follows on from its predeces- sor while carving out its own amber and sensual territory, as if blue harnessed its energy from the evening light. This new olfactory interpretation called Eau de Parfum is not merely a concentra- tion of the key ingredients in the first for- mula. It instantly feels more enveloping. Rounder. Even more comfortable. You can recognize the older sibling, but now with amber it is almost like velvet, with woody notes that seem to prevail over the aque- ous aromatic freshness. Naturally, we still find the Sicilian Man- darin and Lemon, as well as the Haitian Vetiver that opened for the first composi- tion. But now a woody vibration accompa- nies this burst, blending cedar notes and amber vapours with Vanilla and Venezue- lan Tonka Bean. So many supple ingredients that beg to be close to the skin. The musky woody ac- cord provides the finishing touch to soften the entire formula. Rich in New Caledoni- an Sandalwood, its creamy, almost milky, softness is addictive. The vibrant fresh- ness of the Eau de Toilette has evolved to- wards a virile sensuality. Irresistible. A block of pure Bleu To celebrate the launch of the Bleu de Chanel – Eau de Parfum, Chanel created a soap nestled in a box of the same intense blue. This white bar of soap in the shape of a slightly beveled square develops a gentle lather in contact with water. A soap cre- ated to prolong the pleasure of the scent in the shower.
