"We are delighted with how our annual Żurrieq Half Marathon & 10Km runs have been growing in attendance. This, together with our three-year sponsorship agreement with Express Trailers encouraged us to invest in making this event even bigger and more professionally or- ganised, also thanks to the profes- sional management and organisation provided by Mr. Joe Micallef and his team of the MMOC. This In fact, for the first time this year, we will also be introducing chip timing for all participants thus securing more accurate records and timings. Regis- trations for both the Half Marathon and the 10km race are now open and athletes have already been applying," said Mauro Pace Parascandalo. "After feedback from athletes who participated in last year's event, some minor changes have been done on the route in order to make the race safer for the athletes, making it more athlete-friendly and possibly faster," added Mauro Pace Parascandalo. Franco Azzopardi, Chairman and CEO of Express Trailers commend- ed the Żurrieq Wolves Atheltic Club and the Malta Marathon Organis- ing Committee for their dedication and professional spirit in wanting to see this event grow bigger and more successful and expressed his satis- faction that what started last year as a tentative collaboration has now developed into a successful partner- ship. "Success and commitment are two values that are shared by both Express Trailers and the Żurrieq Wolves Atheltic Club. They are part of both our DNA and this is the ba- sis of our collaboration. Our support to the Żurrieq Wolves Athletic Club stems from our effort to support the less more vulnerable users on our roads and based on the success of last year's event, we are very con- fident that this year's races will be even more successful," said Franco Azzopardi. Both athletic events shall start from the road in front of the Zurrieq Parish Church. The Express Trailers Zurrieq Half Marathon will start at 0730 Hrs.
