OCTOBER 24 DIVINA Gozo-based ballet company Naupaca Dance Factory will be performing their interpretation of Dante's Divine Comedy at Gozo's Teatru Aurora, Victoria. Featuring guest performers Francesco Mariottini (IT – 'Amici') and Sergey Kheylik (RU) dancing the role of Dante and Virgil respectively, with Naupaca's Deborah Agius as Beatrice. Starts at 19:30. OCTOBER 25 The Violent Violets album launch Rock band e Violent Violets launch their debut album 'Tame' at British Legion Bar, Melita Street, Valletta. ey will be supported by local post punk band e Velts. First band kicks off at 20:45 sharp. Entrance is at €10 with album, €8 without. OCTOBER 31-NOVEMBER 2 Havarie Touring production to be performed at Teatru Salesjan, Sliema after a stint in the UK. EXHIBITIONS OCTOBER 25-NOVEMBER 14 /ru:t/ Collective exhibition organised to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Malta's accession into the EU, organised at the Malta Maritime Museum, Birgu. Featuring artists Adrian Abela, Anna Grima, Charles Balzan, Elisa Von Brockdorff, Karen Caruana, Stephen Vella, Umberto Buttigieg and Victor Agius. Curated by Fabrizio Fleri Soler, the exhibition is an initiative of Fondazzjoni Ċelebrazzjonijiet Nazzjonali, and is being coordinated by Arts Council Malta, in collaboration with the Valletta 2018 Foundation. OCTOBER 25-NOVEMBER 29 Mario Cassar: Timeless Exhibition of 'found art' sculptures by Gozitan artist Mario Cassar at Vini e Capricci, Xewkija. UNTIL OCTOBER 31 Landschaft 2014 An exhibition of studies, drawings prints and oils inspired by Maltese landscapes by Jesmond Vassallo at the German-Maltese Circle, Messina Palace, 141, St Christopher's Street, Valletta. Opening hours: 08:30-12:30 and 16:00-19:30 (Monday to Friday); 08:30-12:30 (Saturday). UNTIL NOVEMBER 7 Maltese Confabulations Multidisciplinary exhibition by German artist Bettina Hustchek at Blitz, St Lucy Street, Valletta. Fragments of Maltese reality are interwoven in the various narrations, forming the basis for artistic storytelling and presenting a body of work that is to be understood simultaneously, not chronologically. Opening hours: 10:00 to 15:00 (Tuesday to Thursday); 15:00 to 19:00 (Friday and Saturday). UNTIL NOVEMBER 9 CONSTRUCT An exhibition of paintings by Celia Borg Cardona at St James Cavalier, Valletta. The work on display shows that the painter's steadfast interest in streetscapes and bird's eye views of gatherings of people has now turned into a focus on sweeping, soaring architectural views of Maltese towns, sometimes on correspondingly oversize canvases. COMICS CONVENTION OCTOBER 31, NOVEMBER 2 Malta Comics and Pop Culture Expo Comic book and pop culture convention taking place at the Malta Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. During the Expo, visitors will be able to attend panels or even meet up with known TV and film personalities. The guest line-up includes Dirk Benedict ('Faceman' from The A-Team), Robert Picardo (The Doctor from Star Trek: Voyager) and Sylvester McCoy (the 7th Dr Who and Radagast the Brown from The Hobbit). Maltese-British actor Joseph Gatt will also be joining the fray. BOOKS OCTOBER 30 Jutta Heim by Immanuel Mifsud – book launch Book launch for the latest novel by celebrated author Immanuel Mifsud at Cettina Café, Merchants Street, Valletta at 19:00. NOVEMBER 3-7 DESA's annual book sale Book sale by the Department of English Students Association (DESA) at the University of Malta quadrangle, 09:00 to 14:00. NOVEMBER 12-16 National Book Festival Annual book festival (formerly Book Fair) at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta.
