maltatoday, SUNDAY, 30 NOVEMBER 2014 57 Sport FOOTBALL SPORTTODAY Mosta .......................... 3 Pieta Hotspurs............... 1 MOSTA bounced back from their 5-0 defeat to Valletta with a 3-1 over Pieta Hotspurs at the Hibernians Sta- dium, putting the Blues in fourth. Following their seventh defeat of the season Pieta are now second from bottom on twelve points to- gether with Tarxien. Two early goals paved the way for Mosta's against a Hotspurs side who played for more than an hour with ten men. Pieta's Nikola Tasic was given the marching orders by Referee Clayton Pisani for headbutting Mosta mid- fielder Dyson Falzon who was him- self sent off in the second half for two bookable offences. Mosta managed to take the lead on the 8th minute when Bojan Kaljevic released Daniel Mariano Bueno with the Brazilian forward slotting home from a close angle. The Blues doubled the score on the 20th when Kaljevic and Falzon exchanged the ball on the flank before Nemanja Milovanovic hit a first-time shot from the cross to give Mosta a two-goal lead. Following Tasic's dismissal tem- pers flew with both sets of players putting in a number of aggressive tackles. On 32 minutes, Hotspurs had a great chance to pull one back as Kyle Cesare dribbled his way into the op- ponenst box only to see his close- range effort saved by Mosta's last defender Omar Borg. However, the Mosta goalkeeper was beaten two minutes from a for- midable freekick by Claudio Daniel Frances. On 43 minutes, Mosta restored their two-goal cushion when Ryan Grech freed Ribeiro who scored with a fine header.
