Hibernians were the better side right from the start. Hibernians came close to scoring attempts by Jorginho and Failla but Qormi also had a good opportunity to score through Frank Temile. Hibernians managed to take the lead on the 35th minute thanks to Jorge Pereira da Silva, who received a good pass before entering the penalty area and hitting lost past goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia. Hibernians went close once again three minutes later with a power- ful drive by Failla but Matthew Farrugia peformed a good save and just before half-time, Edison Luis dos Santos was unlucky to hit the woodwork from close range when served by Failla. Four minutes in the second half, Hibernians doubled their lead, once again thanks to Jorge Pereira da Silva, who beat the Qormi goal- keeper with a good shot from close range. Edison Luis dos Santos could have added another on the 57th minute but his shot hit the cross- bar. One minute later, Jorginho scored the third goal, heading the ball home off a corner by Andrew Cohen. Clayton Failla was denied by the woodwork on the on 64th minute with a powerful shot from inside the area. Hibernians scored the fourth goal on 73 minutes when follow- ing a good run on the right f lank by Joseph Mbong, his cross was in- tercepted by Edison Luis dos San- tos who placed the ball at the back of the net from close range. Two minutes later, Hibernians made it 5-0 with Edison Luis dos Santos beating goalkeeper Mat- thew Farrugia with a lob from the edge of the area. However it was not over yet as four minutes from time, Clay- ton Failla scored the sixth with a powerful shot from just inside the area.
