Sliema on the other hand suf- fered their fourth defeat in their last five matches. The match started with both sides playing a fast paced match. Hibernians managed to take the lead just after 13 minutes of play. A freekick by Clayton Failla was cleared away by Zammit, but Edi- son Luis dos Santos managed to find the back of the net with his shot to give Hibernians the lead. On the 60th minute, Hibernians doubled their lead thanks to a perfect freekick by Edison Luis dos Santos that left no chance for goalkeeper Glen Zammit. Six minutes later, Sliema man- aged to reduce the gap. Trevor Cilia served Peter Xuereb who went on to beat goalkeeper Henry Bonello with his shot. More pressure from Sliema was not enough as the match ended with Hibernians continuing their unbeaten run.
