EXHIBITIONS ENDS TODAY Edward Lear – Watercolours and Words Exhibition of works by Edward Lear at Palazzo Falson Historic House Museum, Mdina. The exhibition, which is being organized by Palazzo Falson on behalf of Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti, is guest-curated by John Varriano, Professor Emeritus of Art History at Mount Holyoke College, Massachusetts who is the author of a forthcoming book, to be published by Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti, on Lear in Malta. Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday; 10:00 to 16:00. UNTIL JANUARY 27 Dolores Lungaro Mifsud at Villa Bologna Ceramist Dolores Lungaro Mifsud will be showing her work at Villa Bologna, Attard. Lungaro will be exhibiting a selection of her sculptures in the Villa Bologna gift shop and will be onsite twice a week, including Saturdays, creating new sculptures. UNTIL JANUARY 31 Three Artists Amongst the Gods Exhibition of mixed media art at the Old University Campus, St Paul's Street, Valletta. Featuring work by Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci (painting and mixed media), Sina Farrugia (drawings and ceramics) and Anthony Catania (video projection). Organised by the Departments of Classics and Archaeology and History of Art, in collaboration with the Malta Classics Association. NATURE WALK JANUARY 11 First Walk of 2015 First walk of the year at the Majjistral Nature and History Park – free for the first 10 who book at walks@majjistral.org. The walk is not more than 6km and follows the clifftop route and inland towards the restored girna. Prospective visitors are advised to wear comfortable shoes for rugged terrain. PUBLIC TALK JANUARY 7 Lyotard and techno-science Public talk on French philosopher Jean-François Lyotard and techno- science by Chris Fenech at the University of Malta, 18:00. This session will be led by Fenech and it will be the fourth session of the Philosophy Postgraduate Reading Group. This reading group is WHAT'S ON TODAY Pinocchio: The Panto Annual FM Theatre Panto written by and starring Edward Mercieca as Dame Saltimbocca, at the Manoel Theatre, Valletta. Cast also includes Renato Dimech as Geppeto, David Chircop as Jimmy, Larrisa Bonacci as the Blue Fairy, Maxine Aquilina as Princess Esmeralda amongst others. Merry Poppins: The MADC Panto Annual MADC Panto featuring Alan Montanaro at MFCC, Ta' Qali. Set on a Mediterranean island during colonial times, the show sees Merry Poppins (Montanaro), a nanny that is not your average nanny, being summoned to look after Governor Banks' bratty children Mikey and Jane. Rest of the cast includes: Katherine Brown, John Montanaro, Joseph Zammit, Luke Saydon and Mandy Randon, among others.
