During her visit, the President learnt how MSV Life has turned a CSR initiative with the Inspire Foundation into a business op- portunity. Collaboration between MSV Life and Middlesea Insurance and the then Eden Foundation (now Inspire Foundation) goes back 15 years, which makes MSV a pioneer in giving young people over the age of 16 with develop- mental disabilities, training op- portunities and exposure to work environments that reflect their dignity. The initiative is also intended to help these youngsters develop their social and employability skills which would ultimately en- hance their chances to find per- manent employment in the open market. MSV Life has since per- manently employed one of these young people. MSV Life and Middlesea Insur- ance currently have a seconded complement of 14 youngsters be- tween the ages of 23 and 33 years of age with developmental dis- abilities. "What originally started off as a CSR Initiative has since turned into a business solution for MSV," said Chief Officer for HR and Corporate Services, Norman Mif- sud. "The Inspire Team adds value to our business processes which nowadays we cannot operate without. This win-win initiative has taught us how to maximise efficiency through the variety of skills available. This is the model that MSV Life is now promoting to other public and private enti- ties in Malta." Marsovin presents donation to Maltese Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta 'Rain, rain, don't go away' in new Catch the Drop project On 27 January 2015 Jeremy Cas- sar, CEO at Marsovin Winery, presented a monetary donation to Philip Farrugia Randon, the Presi- dent of the Maltese Association Sovereign Military Order of Malta (MASMOM), and his wife, Helen Farrugia Randon née Tabone. Marsovin gives this donation to the MASMOM as a contribution towards the charitable endeavours of this Order. The amount donat- ed is a percentage of the wine sales generated from the 2009 and 2010 vintage of Marsovin's f lagship wine, Grand Maître. Grand Maître is a collectable boutique wine produced by ap- pointment to the Maltese Associa- tion Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Every year the label of this wine is dedicated to a different Grand Master in chronological or- der of succession, the first one be- ing Fra Philippe Villiers de L'Isle Adam for the 1998 vintage. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes used to produce Grand Maître come from a privately owned single estate called, Ghajn Rihana Estate which is situated in the same area where the last battle of the Great Siege between the Knights of the Order of St. John was fought against the Turks in September 1565. In this final battle the Turks were situ- ated at St. Paul's Bay to position their troops for the launch of yet another attack. Over 200 Knights and the Sicilian relief of 8000 soldiers were situat- ed in Naxxar waiting for the Turks to advance; a garrison at Mdina was also waiting for the Turks to attack them on their f lank. Once the Turks had advanced as far as Burmarrad, all forces met in the area at Ghajn Rihana where the Knights and Sicilian forces pre- vailed over the Turks. During a special assembly fea- turing water songs and poems, all school students also received a funnel and a plastic bottle to take home and replicate the concept. The school's water conservation proposal has been selected by the HSBC Water Programme - Catch the Drop as one of the 21 win- ning entries of the last scholastic cycle.
