The Kobras batted first and posted another good score of 158 runs. Almost the exact total as the previous week when they lost. Nowell Khosla retired after facing 30 balls and making 39 runs, he then returned later in the innings to face five more balls in which he made 16 runs, a top effort. Bikram Arora finally found some form and made 40 runs and also retired. He hit two fours and two sixes along the way. The Kobras wish that he finds his full form in the last re- maining games. Ramandeep Singh was the only other batsmen to make double figures, 13 in all. Extras were 23. From the Bees Daniel Galea was fantastic taking three wickets in his two over spell. Tom Newell bowled well taking one wicket and conceding 13 runs from his four overs. Paul Bradley was the other wicket taker. Newell was also in the batting action making 23 runs from as many balls. Frank Spiteri was at his brilliant best making 51 runs from his 30 balls faced which left his teammates a five run and over chase. Joy Ghoseroy made 12 runs and Matt McKeogh had made nine earlier. Then in a space of four overs the game changed completely, Derek Ali was run out (nine runs), Tim Wheeler also nine runs was lbw and another run out of Paul Bradley had the Kobras right back in the game. When the 18th over began the Bees had two wickets to make 17 runs. Second ball of the over a wicket falls and Spiteri walks back to the crease. Two balls later he takes a single which brought Galea to strike. Galea was bowled and the Kobras victorious. For the Kobras Justin Farrin-Thorne, Nowell Khosla and Kevin Krishna took two wickets each while Singh took one. The Kobras earned 16 points and jumped into second posi- tion. The Bees earned five points and now are third. Next Saturday the Bees play the Marsa Magpies. The Sunoco Cricket academy/nursery will be from 9:00am till 10:30am.
