MARCH 4-22 Mara: Perspettivi Collective exhibition at Palazzo Pereira, 224, Republic Street, Valletta. Featuring works by Bernice Buhagiar, Charlene Calleja, Sean Camilleri, Karen Caruana, Matthew Cassar, Luca Cauchi, Joe Chetcuti, Jessica Debattista, Glenn Ellul, Sara Ezabe, Anna Galea, Agatha Grima, Franco Navarro, Ray Piscopo, Marlon Polidano, Mark Schembri, Enrique` Tabone, Madeleine Gera, Mary Pitre` and Giovanna Castaldi. UNTIL MARCH 15 Afterselfie – beyond masks Collective exhibition at St James Cavalier, Valletta. Featuring works by Raphael Vella, Elisa Von Brockdorff, Adrian Abela, Ritty Tacsum, Goghi&Goghi collective, Gabriele Grones, Jacopo Dimastrogiovanni, Elia Nadie and Debora Fella. The idea behind Afterselfie was conceived at the 2014 edition of the Curatorial School at VIVA (the Valletta International Visual Art Festival), one of the Valletta 2018 Foundation's projects from its diverse Cultural Programme. Afterselfie is, first and foremost, a cultural exchange between Malta and Italy as a number of Maltese and Italian artists will be showcasing their work in both countries. After being displayed at St James Cavalier, the exhibition will then move to Palazzo Trentini in Trento, Italy and will run from May 15 to 31. MARCH 7-APRIL 5 The Overlooked Performance Photography exhibition by Alex Attard at St James Cavalier, Valletta, presenting itself as a showcase of the ephemeral art beneath the face of Renzo Piano's new Parliament for Valletta. The Overlooked Performance exhibition is both an artistic expression and a document to the skin beneath the face of an historic architectural intervention and to the temporality of man at his workplace. The exhibition is curated by Vince Briffa. THEATRE AND DANCE MARCH 6, 7, 8; 13-15 The Vagina Monologues Performance of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues at Palazzo Pereira, 224, Republic Street, Valletta at 20:00. Cast includes Julia Calvert, Paula Fleri-Soler, Faye Paris, Nicky Schembri, Becky D'Ugo and Steffi Thake. Directed by Nanette Brimmer. MARCH 7 International Ballet Gala Ballet performance of contemporary and classical ballet at Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta at 19:30.
