21 Sport maltatoday, WEDNESDAY, 13 MAY 2015 MOTORSPORTS FOOTBALL TENNIS Balzan midfielder Dylan Grima wins the BOV Player of the Month award for April BALZAN FC midfielder Dylan Gri- ma is the BOV Player of the Month for April 2015. April was a perfect month for Balzan. They won all of their four encounters, and handed this year's BOV Premier League Champions Hibernians their first defeat of the season. Dylans's altruistic style of play was definitely in evidence against Zebbug. Besides scoring one goal in Balzan's 4-1 victory, he offered an inviting cross to defender Elkin Serrano whose powerful header gave Zebbug goalkeeper Farrugia no chance. Bernard Azzopardi, Manager of Bank of Valletta's Birkirkara Branch presented the BOV Player of the Month trophy for April 2015 to Dylan Grima who chose Puttinu Cares to benefit from the donation associated with this award Bernard Azzopardi, Manager of Bank of Valletta presents the award to Dylan Grima ASMK to organise first night event next Saturday ON Saturday 16 May the 'Assoc- jazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi' will be organizing the eleventh event of the ASMK Pasta Poiatti National Championship 2014/15. This event will consist of the 10th event for the Autocross cars and the 6th for the Motocross. As the weather has already reached el- evated temperatures during the day this program will be held un- der artificial lighting for the Auto- cross while the Motocross starts at 4:30 in the afternoon with the cars will be starting at 7:30pm. As the Autocross league is near- ing an end after ten races we see an interesting fight for the Cham- pionship lead between Christian Mark Galea on his Fiat Ritmo and Philip Joe Vella on his Opel Corsa as both drivers stand the chance to win the 2014/15 National Auto- cross Championship title. Galea is currently ahead in the ranking with 203 points and Vella follows with 192 points. The fight for the lead continues for the third place where Vince Farrugia on his Volkswagen Fox is currently oc- cupying this 3rd position with 157 points. Yet Andrew Pisani also stands a chance to advance to this 3rd position on his Vauxhall Nova. Pisani is currently running with af- ter 127 points in 4th place. In the Autocross Class B Godwin Martin on the Opel Corsa has al- ready sealed the title of this class with 46 points. The battle for the runner-up is now between Jonath- an Camilleri on an Opel Corsa with 25 points and Jason Martin on his Volkswagen Polo with 21 points. The Autocross 'Standard Class' clearly shows that now Deane Far- rugia on his Citroen AX is expected to register the first title in this class. Farrugia is currently at the top with 60 points followed by Joseph Vella on his Ford Fiesta with 23 points. John Agius is in third place on his Peugeot 205 with 15 points. In the Motocross Class A after five races from seven we find Clay- ton Camilleri on his KTM who once again dominates this class. Camilleri has won 246 points with two more races to go. It appears that Camilleri will be registering the eighth title in his Motocross sporting career. Camilleri is fol- lowed in 2nd place by Edward Ciantar with 201 points on his Ka- wasaki. Kyle Camilleri on his KTM is in 3rd place with 180 points. In Class B Ludvic Muscat on a KTM leads the class with 255 points. He is also expected to win this class in the next two last championship events. Muscat is followed by the young Gozo rider Adam Sultana on his Kawasaki with 171 points. Elvin Debono is in third place on a Kawasaki with 159 points. Fourth place is won by young Mark Mamo on an 85cc Yamaha with 149 points. The world number one, given a bye into the second round, was in total control as he swept through the opening set at the Foro Italico, but the aggressive Almagro set- tled down to his task and made the Serb work hard for an 18th con- secutive Tour victory. Djokovic looked poised for vic- tory when he built a 5-2 lead in the tiebreak but Almagro fought back and when Djokovic netted a tame forehand at 5-5 Almagro seized his chance, clinching the second set with a powerful first serve. Almagro, who missed the sec- ond half of last year after foot sur- gery and has slipped to 174th in the rankings, continued to worry Djokovic with his power at the start of the third set. Djokovic kept his nose in front on serve though and broke in the eighth game after winning a long baseline exchange. Novak Djokovic
