Other great results were achieved by John Debono who won the bronze in the Masters Under 70 kg, Ray- mond Cassar also also won the bronze in the Mas- ters Classic bodybuilding, Stephen Borg achieved the 6th place in both the Mas- ters as and Seniors -80 kilos and Jonathan Seychell who placed 6th in the physique under 178 cm. These were the best results ever achieved by Maltese athletes competing in such a high-level competition where more than 1500 athletes & delegates were present. President, Dr Frank Testa, was delighted to welcome the player to the Club, stating that this was a signing both for the future as well as the present. 'Any player you bring in you hope will improve the quality you already have. In Kai we have signed a player who will surely complement well our talented up- coming youth players in forming a strong team for the future, however he is also a player whom we hope will make us more competitive in the short-term'. The player also expressed his sat- isfaction on having joined the most decorated club in Maltese water polo and is confident that he can achieve all his ambitions with his new team mates. 'It is a proud mo- ment for me to join such a big club and I hope to repay the committee for the faith they have shown in me, by helping the team challenge as from the upcoming season'. Dowling signed a 6-year contract with his new club, and follows in the footsteps of his father Kurt, who had formed part of the victori- ous Sliema sides in the late 90s.
