Events 43 maltatoday, Sunday, 5 July 2015 FCM Bank was recently an- nounced as Global Finance Magazine's choice for the Best Developed Market Bank in Mal- ta. All selections were made by the editors of Global Finance, af- ter extensive consultations with corporate financial executives, bankers and analysts through- out the world. "The banks that Global Fi- nance is honouring may not be the largest or oldest, but they are the best at targeting their prod- ucts and offerings to the specific markets they serve," said Joseph Giarraputo, publisher and edito- rial director of Global Finance. "These banks have weathered the volatile conditions of the past few years and are primed to take advantage of global condi- tions – as they improve." Banks were invited to submit entries supporting their selec- tion. Objective criteria consid- ered included: growth in assets, geographic reach, strategic re- lationships, new business de- velopment and innovation in products. Subjective criteria in- cluded the opinions of analysts, banking consultants and others involved in the industry. "We were very excited to be awarded Malta's Best Bank in Developed Markets for 2015 by Global Finance Magazine," said FCM Bank's Chief Operating Officer Vincent Ma. "One of Malta's big banks won the title last year and this award demonstrates how the indus- try recognises FCM Bank's products and services against Malta's best banks. Focus has been the story of our success, as we help our customers make the most of their savings and achieve the things they want. We are thrilled to see that this commitment has been noticed by the wider industry. We would like to thank the FCM Bank team for living the brand promise, and our customers for trusting us with such an impor- tant aspect of their lives – their savings." Expo Milano hosts Peugeot Food Truck MyRun Technogym Charity Challenge success FCM Bank named world's Best Bank in Developed Markets for Malta by Global Finance Magazine Since the 2015 World's Fair, Expo Milano, opened in May with the theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", the Peugeot Food Truck, Le Bistrot du Lion, has been en- joying prime real estate in front of the French Pavilion. Under the direction of chefs from the Centre Culinaire Contem- porain (Contemporary Culinary Center) in Rennes, Le Bistrot du Lion puts the spotlight on French culinary expertise and products by offering complimentary tast- ings for more than 800 visitors a day. Le Bistrot du Lion boasts inno- vative design that makes prepar- ing quality street food easy, but that's not the only sign that it's hip to the times: it also includes a space for mixing music that will host Jabberwokcy and Breakbot & Friends on June 21 and July 14 re- spectively. Twenty million people are ex- pected to visit Expo Milano and its 53 national pavilions before the event closes its doors on October 31. The predicted average footfall for the French pavilion alone is 9,000 a day. Set up right outside the French pavilion, the Peugeot Food Truck, Le Bistrot du Lion, welcomes nearly 800 people a day, serving up com- plimentary delicacies prepared by the chefs of the Centre Culinaire Contemporain (Contemporary Culinary Center). The freshest in- gredients (fruits, vegetables, dairy, etc.) from all of France's differ- ent regions are highlighted in the chefs' offerings. The Peugeot Food Truck, dubbed Le Bistrot du Lion, is the brainchild of the Peugeot Design Lab and was unveiled in Paris in April. It then took up residence at the Milan Design Week be- fore traveling to the World's Fair. Thanks to its revolutionary de- sign, this compact van doubles its width when parked to become Le Bistrot du Lion. Complete with ar- eas for preparing food, dining and grabbing a drink, the food truck is also a place where you can soak up some music: a new focus for Peu- geot since the recent launch of its digital platform Peugeot Music, which offers web radio and exclu- sive playlists. On June 21, for the 34th annual Fête de la Musique (World Mu- sic Day), Peugeot will welcome French band Jabberwocky to the helm of the Peugeot Food Truck's mixing tables. The electro-pop musicians brought out their first single, "Photomaton", in 2013. It quickly became a hit and was fea- tured in the commercial for the Peugeot 208. Thanks to technology and speak- ers by French sound-system leader Focal, visitors are sure to enjoy high-quality sound! As part of the Bastille Day cel- ebrations on July 14, the young and talented French chef Angèle Ferreux-Maeght—who strives to reconcile gastronomy and healthy eating, enjoyment and well- be- ing—will be running the show in the kitchen of Le Bistrot du Lion. Her menu features only seasonal, organic and gluten-free ingredi- ents for a truly healthy gastronom- ic experience. Meanwhile, the DJs Breakbot & Friends (the artists be- hind popular hits "Baby I'm Yours" and "One Out of Two") will be in charge of the musical ambiance to make the Peugeot Food Truck the trendiest and most groovy culi- nary spot on the map! Last weekend's MYRUN Techno- gym Charity Challenge attracted participants from all walks of life, age groups and levels of fitness as well as numerous personalities and politicians, to do their bit for the Inspire Foundation Malta. Vivendo Group, representatives of Technogym in Malta, set up a runners' zone with four high-tech treadmills on the Sliema prome- nade. The challenge was clear. The longer distance achieved on the treadmills, the more money would be donated to the Charity since Vivendo would be offering €5 for every km generated on one of these new treadmills on display. Stefano Borg, Wellness Man- ager at Vivendo Group said "We are very pleased with the turn- out and positive response that we received. Over the weekend a total of 969 kilometres were clocked up on our treadmills and it generated 4,845 euro for the Inspire Foundation Malta". The charity event also marked the launch of the brand new MYRUN Technogym treadmill - a state-of-the-art treadmill de- signed by runners for runners.
