15 WHAT'S ON FESTIVALS UNTIL JULY 10-AUGUST 3 Malta International Arts Festival 2015 Now in its tenth edition, the Malta Arts Festival will host a variety of both local and international performers across various venues in Valletta, including Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Argotti Gardens, Fort St Elmo and the recently renovated Valletta City Gate. For more information and a full programme, log on to www. maltaartsfestival.org JULY 10-12 The Marsovin Summer Wine Festival 2015 Festival of wine and live entertainment at Hastings Gardens, Valletta at 20:00. Featuring a selection of Marsovin wines and food, along with music from Red Electrick, Airport Impressions, The Creepers, Kazinska, along with others. All those attending the wine festival have the opportunity to purchase a €15 token package fee, which includes a premium festival wine glass to take home and €15 worth of wine tokens, with which one can either taste up to 20 different wines or drink a selection of wines by the glass or by the bottle. JULY 11 Xtreme Metal Assault Heavy metal music festival at the Corradino Old Military Prison, Paola from 17:00. Featuring the bands: Sahhar, A Broken Design, Ashes for Nought, Rising Sunset, Relicuia, Ascendor, Arachnid, Fallen Icon, Blind Saviour, Repugnance, Angelcrypt, In the Name Of, Insurgence, It Came From the Desert, Martyrium, and 12th ode. Entrance is at €15. JULY 16-19 Malta Jazz Festival Four-day edition of the Malta Jazz Festival at Ta' Liesse, Valletta at 20:00. Featuring: Kris Spiteri Noir Project, Joe Cohn Quartet (with Yutaka Shiina), Kurt Elling Passion World, Anthony Camilleri Quartet, David Binney Avenija, Chris Potter, Dave Holland, Lionel Loueke, Eric Harland, The Fringe Jazz Ensemble, Children of the Light Trio, Chucho Valdes and Irakere 40, 3rd Edition of the Malta Jazz Contest, Soweto Kinch Quartet and Richard Bona. MUSIC AND NIGHTLIFE JULY 11 Corazon Corazon Mizzi will be performing live Maltese songs at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, supported by Daniel Chircop, Dominic Galea and Walter Micallef at 21:00. Bookings: ticketline.com.mt. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL JULY 29 KATZE – The keepers of the in- between Site-specific intervention by Adrian Abela at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta. Also featuring Opera performances as sound interventions – on July 4, 17 and 25 from 20:30 to 23:00. Entrance is free. HERITAGE & FOLKLORE JULY 11 Target Filfla – FAA Heritage Cruise Heritage cruise to Filf la organised by Flimkien Ghal Ambjent Ahjar from 09:30. The cruise will leave from The Strand, Sliema, sailing past all the fortifications of the Grand Harbour and the southern coast, like Xagħjra Tower, Torri San Lucian, Torri San Tumas and others. JULY 17 Heritage Trail: Hagar Qim & Mnajdra Heritage trail across Haġar Qim & Mnajdra Archaeological Park in Qrendi. The trail will include a visit of the two main archaeological sites of Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra Temples, as well as informative visits to the Misqa Tanks, the Congreve Memorial and the nearby Ħamrija Tower. Curators and experts within the field will be available on site. Participants are to meet with a Heritage Malta representative at the Ħaġar Qim car park at 18:00. Tickets are at €15 and €10.
