Events 48 maltatoday, Sunday, 26 July 2015 Mapfre Middlesea launches three-part insurance product Max Protect Mapfre Middlesea p.l.c. has launched 'Max Protect' a new in- surance product which incorpo- rates three covers in one. These covers are Funeral Expenses, Per- sonal Accident as well as an op- tional annual Travel insurance. Planning a funeral is always a tough time for any family. Noth- ing in life is as heart-breaking and distressing as an unexpected death in the family. A funeral ex- penses policy is rarely considered, until the time to organise one comes unexpectedly. Funerals can cost thousands of euros but with a funeral expenses insur- ance, there is no need to worry as these expenses are taken care of, whilst all the preparations are co- ordinated for you by Mapfre Mid- dlesea p.l.c. A Personal Accident Cover helps to protect individuals and their families from financial hardship if the insured suffers a serious injury in an accident. The policy results in financial assistance in case the insured suffers permanent total or partial disablement or temporary total disablement. Such cases may include loss of one or more limbs or one or both eyes. Furthermore, one may include any of the three available optional coverages for Travel Insurance This section covers the insured and dependents for trips, each lasting up to a maximum of 180 days, be it for cancellation, aban- donment, emergency, hospital ex- penses, delays, missed departures, hijack, loss of personal money, be- longings and travel documents, rental vehicle excess and liability to others. This policy is an annual renewa- ble policy, with the Personal Acci- dent and Travel covers remaining in force until the insured person or persons reach age 75 and the Funeral element lasting till even- tual death. Keith Mallia Milanes, Assistant General Manager at Mapfre Mid- dlesea said "We believe that the most valuable thing that clients need from us is peace of mind. That is why our range of products offer protection of assets, liabili- ties, health, leisure and safeguard- ing the future." Mapfre Middlesea p.l.c. (C-5553) is authorised by the Malta Finan- cial Services Authority to carry on both Long Term and General Busi- ness under the Insurance Business Act, 1998. COM is 01072015 935 Basketballer Javier Pulido to represent Malta in Istanbul Javier Pulido has won the second edition of the Red Bull King of the Rock, after an exciting final with Mi- los Damjanovic at the Bognor Sports Complex at Bugibba, in front of a big crowd. The popular summer hotspot hosted this year's Malta Qualfier Fi- nals that saw the last remaining eight players battling it out for a place at the World Finals in Istanbul. Played as a knock out format, the one-on-one basketball tournament from the world of Red Bull was a great showcase for the game and gave the opportunity to the local basketball community to play in such a prestig- ious event. In the first round we saw Javier Pulido, David Bugeja, Milos Damnjanovic and Aki Kechagias, cruising through Jan Stupka, Jean Paul Schembri, Ryan Carabott and Nicholas Gutierrez. In the semifi- nals, local David Bugeja lost a very exciting semifinal against the even- tual winner Javir Pulido, whilst Aki Kechagias was very unlucky to lose his advantage to Milos Damnjanovic in the last two seconds of the game. Javier Pulido will now fly to Istan- bul in August to represent Malta at the World Finals of the Red Bull King of the Rock. Javier Pulido Vassallo Group organizes annual CSR Day A number of employees form- ing part of the Vassallo Group of companies took part in a chal- lenging and exciting experience at the company's annual Corporate Social Responsibility activity.
