The app, which is based on a telematics device that is in- stalled in the car, helps cus- tomers to monitor their driving skills on the road. The MotorMax App showcases the driving patterns of drivers with respect to speed, mileage and time of driving. The password protected app then gauges the driving skills according to these three param- eters, giving a score from one to four per day, with one being the lowest and four being the high- est score. Depending on their scores, drivers can benefit from up to 40% off their insurance re- newal premium. Through the app one can de- termine the location of the car in real time. The app also pro- vides statistics such as total dis- tances driven, total driving time and top speed reached. Should one be parked in a time- restricted zone, the Motor Max app includes a parking timer, which can remind the customer when it is time to move the car. In case of emergency, one can also ask for assistance from the app. The app can be programmed to send email and sms alerts, for instance if one exceeds the speed limit he/she will receive an email or sms. One can also view the history of all the routes driven by the car. "Mapfre Middlesea is increas- ingly becoming more innovative and technologically driven to better suit our customers' needs. The MotorMax App helps us in our mission to encourage smart- er, better and safer driving. "This can lead to savings in car insurance and eventually lead to a reduction in CO2 emissions. For young drivers who would like to save on their insurance and at the same time challenge themselves towards becoming better drivers, this product is an ideal, fun and efficient solu- tion," said Fernando Docampo, Assistant General Manager at Mapfre Middlesea.
