For further information on InterContinental Malta: www. intercontinental/icmalta Malta Stock Exchange, ministry of education to collaborate on improving financial literacy MInISter of education and em- ployment evarist Bartolo and a team from the ministry of edu- cation met the Chairman of the Malta Stock exchange Joseph Portelli and his staff to discuss ways in which the exchange could work with the ministry in order to increase the level of financial lit- eracy in Malta. the financial services sector was also discussed, with emphasis on how to ensure that students and graduates entering into the work- ing environment will be equipped with the right skills and profes- sional qualifications to support the growing financial services sector. Bartolo expressed his support for setting up a committee between the ministry and the exchange to explore and implement ways to further financial education in Malta's school system. Initiatives such as encouraging students to participate in invest- ing, competitions and clubs and offering investment courses at the exchange were discussed. It was agreed that more work needs to be done particularly at early ages to foster a greater awareness amongst students of the importance of sound person- nel finance and how to manage an investment portfolio effectively. the exchange will shortly be embarking on a number of initia- tives, such as the organisation of an Investor education Conference to be held on the 24 october. It already uses its Facebook page and will shortly also embrace vari- ous media such as tV and radio shows, amongst others, in order to get educational information to the public. "It's already been well over three years since our last national con- certs," says Christian Borg, the Pro- ducer of the animae Gospel Choir in Concert 2015 and the Director of entertainment.com.mt ltd. "the feedback from our concerts in 2012 was astounding, and we can't wait for people to see what we've put together for them this time round!" Since their concerts in 2012, the animae Gospel Choir has per- formed an a capella arrangement of the Maltese national anthem pre- pared especially for the 40th anni- versary Celebrations of the republic, was chosen by He Marie louise Co- leiro Preca, the President of Malta, to sing at Westminster Cathedral in london for MaltaDay 2014 and even travelled to Italy to perform under the direction of internationally-ac- claimed artists. "the Choir has been rehearsing for over a year now and Pamela Bezzina, who's the Choir's vocal director and arranger, has come up with an in- credibly varied programme for the nights that includes Gospel classics and popular fan favourites." on top of the 23 singers who make up the animae Gospel Choir, the animae Gospel Choir in Concert 2015 will also feature a hand-picked choir of up to 70 children, as well as a seven-piece live band with musi- cal arrangements crafted by Kris Spiteri.
