Events 45 maltatoday, Sunday, 13 September 2015 A harmony in the Collection Blue Rhythm by Chanel An exhilarating harmony, a fas- cinating rhythm in blue major, with its rebellious spirit sweep- ing away everything in its path. Soft and elegant in daylight, its tempo quickens at nightfall. Pure notes, improvised cho- ruses, an explosion of saturated chords, Blue now interpreted as an electrified jazz score. The expression intensifies to the rhythm of Blue Rhythm is a collection composed in a cre- scendo by the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio. Between eyes and lips, it performs the same electric note: that of volume, played in a duo and in contrast to subtly intensify the beat. Lashes set the tone: dressed in Le Volume Ultranoir De Chanel mascara, they do the full score. A first riff collides with bare lips under Gloss Volume. The fast rhythm speeds up. Colour takes center stage. Les 4 Om- bres shadows blend together in a variation of absolutely mod- ern themes. And nails inso- lently drum out a f light of bluish notes. Eye Quartet Soft, supple and melt-away, the Les 4 Ombres eyeshadows shim- mer in harmony. Exception- ally concentrated with pure pig- ments, the formula marks the rhythm with colour. In dazzling turquoise, midnight blue, sultry black and scintillating white, Tissé Jazz hums an exuberant tune. In a gray melody, Tissé Smoky revisits black, white and silver for eyes that are sheer or sculpted to the extreme. Shades and materials mix and match to your heart's desire in a new composition. Soloists Two chords of blue and black for a single playful range… From the crack of dawn till the depth of night! Ombre Essentielle Swing is a smoldering starry blue that changes character depending on the light. Ombre Essentielle Midnight is a luminous matte black sprinkled with silver. To adapt to your every inspiration. Sensational Chorus To add a touch of softness to this joyful agitation, Illusion d'Ombre reinvents itself in a velvet version. Illusion d'Ombre Velvet Melody, a subtly golden peach beige, offers a cream tex- ture with a powdery feel. Per- fectly matte, even and silky on the skin, it reveals understated shades. As the sun sets, Illu- sion d'Ombre Mystério unveils a platinum effect with creamy metallic accents. Virtuoso blue Sometimes all it takes is a graphic line along the base of the lashes to get into the rhythm in the blink of an eye. The soft silvery gray tip of the Stylo Yeux Waterproof Perle de Lune thrums a sensual song, while the shimmering metallic indigo of the Ligne Graphique Dream Blue eyeliner enhances bare eye- lids and the sophistication of noir-noir stylizes a smoky eye. To harmonize with Le Volume Ultra-noir and Blue night mas- caras or to mix and match for more creativity. Chanel is distributed by Alfred Gera & Sons Ltd Opel in Europe to launch and organise car-pooling concept OVER the past year or two, there has been an evident boost in pop- ularity and overall international usage of ride-sharing services and applications. Why not rent a car from a peer at the click of a button? Why not offer your car to someone when it is not being used? And get paid for it. CarUnity, the innovative car- sharing concept powered by Opel has made a promising start. Cur- rently, roughly one month after its launch, around 1,500 cars are available on the new platform, mainly in the Rhine-Main area, which is Opel home turf. The free app already has over 5,000 registered users. "We have taken a strategically important step to- wards becoming a mobility pro- vider with the successful launch of CarUnity. We will build on this and fire up the next step now," said Opel Group CMO Tina Muller. "We initially focused our mar- keting efforts on the Rhine-Main area. now we will up the ante all over Germany. We will be target- ing the Berlin metropolitan area next and will intensify our com- mitment there," said Jan Wergin, Director Opel Community Car- sharing. Berlin is a hotspot for carsharing. "That is why expanding to the German capital is the next logical step to take for carUnity. We are optimistic that our concept will be just as successful in Berlin as it is in the Rhine-Main area," said Dr Wergin. Opel launched its new carshar- ing community under the motto "Better off sharing" at the end of June. CarUnity provides a quick, easy and flexible opportunity for car owners to offer their car for rental. Opel is treading a new path with the free CarUnity app and is the first car manufacturer to offer carsharing for everyone. It does not matter if the car is an Opel or a different brand. The expansion of the mobility services portfolio is an important pillar on Opel's plans for the fu- ture. Earlier this month, Opel se- cured a stake in the ridesharing platform flinc. Furthermore, the already existing cooperation be- tween flinc and CarUnity will be extended. As of 2016, the internet and app- based ridesharing platform will provide the technological plat- form to provide ridesharing via the carsharing app. "This step will add further im- petus to our intended change to- wards becoming a mobility serv- ice provider," said Tina Müller. While some may be concerned about trust issues when it comes to renting out your car, the service allows users to be able to decide to whom they allow their car to be rented, for example, limited to Facebook friends only, or specific individuals who they invite into their personal circle on CarUnity. With the deal acknowledgment and transaction taking no longer than a few seconds, the app makes it easy for users to either earn quick cash, or promptly find a ride. With the introduction of such apps increasing in the market, the idea of a car is skinned back to its prime purpose, as a transporta- tion tool. Having a car to rent for cheap at the touch of a button, and from the hands of a trustworthy peer, may be of interest to people who, for example, only need to drive once in a while for a one-off errand, or who may only need a vehicle for a short period of time, ultimately decreasing the car presence on the road. The slogan for CarUnity is 'better off shar- ing', with the 'better off ' suggest- ing the 'win-win-win' situation for customers, car owners and ulti- mately, the environment alike. Although CarUnity services are limited to Germany, the notion of sharing rides is one we may all take into consideration and ben- efit from.
